The New Orleans Police Department on Friday released bodycam footage of the New Orleans terrorist attack that left 14 dead and dozens injured.
The video shows officers approaching Shamsud-Din Jabbar in his rented F-150 just seconds after Jabbar rammed his vehicle into a crowd on Bourbon Street.
As the officers approach the F-150, Jabbar starts firing on the officers with his gun tucked underneath a deployed airbag.
NOPD quickly returned fire and fatally shot Jabbar, ending the terror.

The video shows three officers surrounding the rented F-150 that Jabbar used to barrel through crowds of New Year’s Day revelers, killing 14 and injuring dozens more.
A fourth officer, Luis Robles, wearing the body camera that recorded the footage, runs toward the open door of the truck after it crashed into a lift vehicle in the 300 block of Bourbon Street.
As the officer approaches, a bright muzzle flash erupts from inside the cab of the truck; Jabbar firing a gun from beneath a deployed airbag.
Officers quickly fall back as gunfire continues. NOPD officers returned fire, fatally shooting Jabbar and ending the rampage.

The New Orleans Police Department on Friday released body camera footage of the shootout between three officers and the attacker who rammed his truck into pedestrians on Bourbon Street in the early hours of New Year’s Day, killing 14 people.
The roughly 10 seconds of footage shows two officers with their guns drawn in front of the open driver’s side door of a white pickup truck. A voice can be heard yelling “put your hands up” before shooting erupts and officers and some pedestrians run away from the vehicle. The police department also released a slower version of the same video, as well as a still image showing what appears to be a muzzle flash from the attacker’s weapon.
It was the first time details of the shootout, including the names of the officers who killed the attacker, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, were released.
