As much of Los Angeles continues to burn to the ground amid uncontrolled wildfires, officials across the state are busy passing the buck.
For her part, failed Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris recently insisted that insurance companies bear blame for canceling policies across the increasingly fire-prone region.

Insurance industry leaders took note of her charged rhetoric, as Fox Business reported:
David Sampson, president and CEO of the American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA), told FOX Business, “It is false, wrong and dangerous to even insinuate that insurers are abandoning their customers, and it’s especially concerning coming from a former California statewide elected official who should know the law.”
He added, “Insurers are committed to protecting the safety of those affected and providing expedited relief to their policyholders for the covered losses.”
Sampson noted that California law prohibits insurers from canceling an insurance policy during its term, except for very limited exceptions, such as non-payment of premiums or fraud.
He added, “So the implication that people who have insurance coverage effective on January 7th are being canceled — just to leave that impression with people and to create that fear — is irresponsible, in my view.”

Gavin Newsom says, “I wanna know the answers” about what happened with the wildfires. He then proceeds to blame local authorities for the disaster.
Unbelievable.

According to WDSU, the wildfires have caused Harris to cancel her last scheduled foreign trip as part of the Biden administration:
Harris had planned to visit Singapore, Bahrain and Germany from Jan. 13 to 17. The itinerary suggested she wanted to continue playing a global role even after losing the presidential election to Donald Trump, who takes office on Jan. 20.
Firefighters have been struggling to get a handle on several blazes in the Los Angeles area.
At a White House meeting with Biden on Thursday, Harris said wildfires will continue to be a year-round threat.
For what it’s worth, here’s what lame duck Joe Bide had to say about the situation:
