John Fetterman Backs President Trump On Greenland Purchase

Sen. John Fetterman continues to be the most logical, clearest thinking Democrat in the entire Congress….imagine that!

It’s almost as if whatever brain surgery he underwent patched things back together and gave him a real boost.

Watch this incredible clip where he tells Democrats to stop freaking out over Trump’s proposal to acquire Greenland:

“It’s a responsible conversation […] Remember the Louisiana Purchase? I think Alaska was a pretty great deal, too.”

“I mean – [I’m] open to having all kinds of conversations. It’s not helpful to freak out. Some things might work out, some may not.”

“He hasn’t even taken office [until] 2 weeks… we really need to pace ourselves, if we’re going to freak out over every tweet.”

I gotta say, he’s right!

All very good comparisons and very fair points.

Democrat Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania has accepted an invitation from President Trump to meet at Mar-a-Lago.

When CBS asked about the meeting, Fetterman shared, "Yes, we are going to have a conversation."

Fetterman added, "And I think it's pretty reasonable that if the president would like to have a conversation — or invite someone to have a conversation — to have it. And no one is my gatekeeper."

Fetterman's visit to Mar-a-Lago will be the first time a sitting Democrat senator has met with Trump at his estate.

Democratic Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania has accepted an invitation from President-elect Donald Trump to meet with him at his Mar-a-Lago estate, according to multiple sources familiar with the plans.

"That is the plan. Yes, we are going to have a conversation," Fetterman told CBS News about the upcoming meeting.

The trip will mark the first known time a sitting Democratic U.S. senator is meeting with Trump at his Palm Beach residence since the election.

"I think that one, he's the president, or he will be officially," Fetterman said. "And I think it's pretty reasonable that if the president would like to have a conversation — or invite someone to have a conversation — to have it. And no one is my gatekeeper."

Trump met with the Democratic mayor of Washington, D.C., Muriel Bowser, last month to talk about the inauguration and his second term, her office said in a statement.

Per The Hill:

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) said he plans to meet with President-elect Trump at his resort in Florida, likely the first Democratic lawmaker in the upper chamber to meet with the incoming commander-in-chief since his general election victory in November last year.

“President Trump invited me to meet, and I accepted. I’m the Senator for all Pennsylvanians— not just Democrats in Pennsylvania,” Fetterman said in an emailed statement to The Hill. “I’ve been clear that no one is my gatekeeper. I will meet with and have a conversation with anyone if it helps me deliver for Pennsylvania and the nation.”
