As part of the deal, Melania Trump will serve as an executive producer of the documentary.

Amazon will reportedly shell out $40 million to license a documentary on incoming first lady Melania Trump. The price tag includes the film itself, a smaller-scale theatrical run before being featured on Prime Video, and a supplementary docuseries.
Puck’s Matthew Belloni reported more details about the Brett Ratner-directed film as the onetime and future first lady prepares to rejoin the biggest spotlight in the country in less than two weeks. The New York Post has also reported that Amazon paid $40 million for the project.
Melania Trump will be an executive producer on the projects, Belloni said. It’s unclear how much the incoming first lady will be paid.

The documentary, directed by “Rush Hour” auteur Brett Ratner, is set to be released later this year — with one source close to the agreement suggesting it could spawn multiple projects.
The hefty price tag was first reported by Puck News and covers the rights to projects involving Mrs. Trump over the next four years.

The book, titled 'Melania', will be released on October 1, but is available for pre-order on Amazon.
It is currently the No.1 best-seller in Amazon's 'US Presidents' category, as well as its 'Political Leader Biographies' category.
It takes the No.2 spot in the 'Biographies' ranking, and No.5 among all new releases — an impressive feat, especially considering it hasn't even hit shelves yet.

Melania Trump’s first-ever memoir, "Melania," is set to be released to the public on Oct. 1, but this weekend, the pre-orders reached the top of a number of Amazon’s best-selling books lists.
"Melania" is currently #1 in Amazon’s "Memoirs" category, #1 in Amazon’s "US Presidents" category, and #1 in Amazon’s "Political Leader Biographies" category.
"Writing my memoir has been an amazing journey filled with emotional highs and lows," the former first lady told Fox News Digital. "Each story shaped me into who I am today."
She told Fox News Digital that "although daunting at times, the process has been incredibly rewarding, reminding me of my strength, and the beauty of sharing my truth."
There will be two separate editions of "Melania."
The first will publish on Oct. 1. The second version — the "Collector’s Edition" — will publish at a later date. The memoir is being published by Skyhorse Publishing.
