I’m sure you’re familiar with the Gulf of Mexico, we all are.
But does it belong to Mexico?
Does it border only Mexico?
No, in fact the shoreline is almost identical between the USA and Mexico.
United States: The US has a coastline along the Gulf of Mexico that spans approximately 1,680 miles (2,700 km) across five states: Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida.
Mexico: The Mexican coastline along the Gulf of Mexico covers about 1,743 miles (2,805 km). This shoreline spans the Mexican states of Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán, and the northernmost tip of Quintana Roo.
So President Trump just announced today he will be renaming it the Gulf of America.
Doesn’t that have an amazing ring to it?
