‘Young Turks’ Co-Host Sides With GOP Leader Over What Democrats Have Done To ‘Red Pill’ So Many Americans

November’s election was a clear message to Democrats that their messaging and ideology is no longer aligned with millions of voters who once supported the party.

For some leftists, like pundit Ana Kasparian of “The Young Turks,” the blame lies with Democratic leaders who continue to push people out of the party for failing to abide by its entire far-left orthodoxy.

She recently opined that Democrats will continue coming up short at the ballot box until they figure out how to appeal to a wider swath of the electorate. As the Daily Caller reported:

After Vice President Kamala Harris lost the 2024 election to President-elect Donald Trump, some Democrats engaged in self-reflection about the cause for the defeat after Trump made substantial gains among both black and Hispanic voters. Kasparian said she resonated with a quote from California Republican Party chairwoman Jessica Milan Patterson in the clip that surfaced Friday on social media.

“I’ve never read a quote that resonated with me more than this one does, so I’m going to read it,” Kasparian told co-host Cenk Uygur. “‘You don’t get red pilled overnight. It’s the issues that affect your everyday life first, and then you connect them with people and then you connect it with a party.’ That is so true and that is what are trying to get across to people,” added after reading the quote.

“When you’re affected day to day by quality of life issues and all you hear from the Democratic Party is, ‘Shut up, no, it’s not happening, and if it’s happening, it’s not that big of a deal,’ man,” Kasparian continued. “That really does red pill people. It builds resentment toward the party. And I really think the Democrats need to pivot away from that because they’re going to keep losing if they think that that type of treatment of voters, that type of disrespect toward voters is going to get them anywhere.”

Kasparian and her co-host, Cenk Uygur, began to distance themselves from the prevailing left-wing mentality in recent months:

Kasparian opened up even more about her shifting political views during a post-election interview with conservative radio host Glenn Beck, per Mediaite:

“I can definitely be honest about my own flaws and my own mistakes because I bought the mainstream media narrative that there wasn’t a migrant crisis,” Kasparian told Beck. “And yeah, I did believe it. I believed because, look, I was an idiot because, I mean, Who do you trust in today’s media landscape?”

Kasparian, who has been hitting Democrats hard in the wake of Vice President Kamala Harris’s election loss, continued:

There’s a lot of liars out there. When it comes to mainstream media, the fact of the matter is they do play defense more and more for the Democratic Party. And that’s an issue because there was a time when that didn’t happen. And so I still believed in their good faith reporting, even though it turns out, you know, a lot of these reports would omit really important details about what’s really going on. And so it wasn’t until Texas Governor Greg Abbott started busing or sending migrants to blue cities where that woke me up, that woke a lot of people up. And suddenly America realizes, there is a migrant crisis.
