Kamala Sets New Congress Off On The Wrong Foot By Messing Up The Pledge Of Allegiance

After four years of the gaffe-packed Biden-Harris administration, it’s hardly surprising to hear a botched line. But when Kamala Harris led members of Congress in the Pledge of Allegiance to begin the new session, it was clear that she couldn’t even manage that elementary school task.

Her recitation almost immediately went off the rails with a flub in the very first line.

The Daily Caller provided details:

Harris, who rose to the top of the Democratic ticket just months before the 2024 presidential election but lost the race to President-elect Donald Trump, still holds the constitutional role as President of the Senate. In her official capacity, Harris asked senators to join her in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance at the start of the session.

“Please join me in pledging allegiance to our flag,” Harris told senators at the start of the session shortly after noon on Friday. “I pledge allegiance to the United States — of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

Her performance sparked some social media ridicule:

Fox News also covered the response:

“HOLY SMOKES. Kamala just screwed up the pledge of allegiance on the Senate floor. What an embarrassment to this country,” prominent pro-Trump account Johnny Maga posted on the platform.
