Leftist Lawmaker Tries To Belittle Tom Homan, But He Was Prepared With The Perfect Response

Former acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Tom Homan has generated a huge amount of buzz on both sides of the political aisle since President Donald Trump selected him to serve as border czar.

Homan’s tough talk and promises of decisive action have bolstered the resolve of border security hawks on the right, but many on the left have resorted to name-calling and ad hominem attacks.

When asked about the criticisms of one lawmaker, Homan instantly adopted a dismissive tone,  as The Hill reported:

Tom Homan, who has been tapped to be President-elect Trump’s border czar, criticized Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) after she said he is in over his head.

On Saturday, Crockett joined MSNBC, where she chastised the Trump administration for its mass deportation plans, and she argued they would separate families and put people in immigration encampments.

Homan then joined Newsmax on Monday, where he dismissed her criticism.

“So, look, I don’t know who this lady is,” Homan said, highlighted by Mediaite. “I don’t care about what they say about Tom Homan, because I’ve done this job for a long time.”

Homan ran Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in an acting capacity in 2017 and 2018 before retiring. Being named border czar means it’s Homan’s second time coming out of retirement for Trump.

Amid the partisan back-and-forth, many social media users jumped to Homan’s defense:

Townhall also provided coverage of Homan’s response:

Crockett was interviewed on Alex Witt Reports on Saturday, during which she slammed the president-elect’s immigration policies.

Again, we have someone who doesn’t know what he’s doing. This idea of, ‘Oh, you know you’re illegal, and then you go out and have a child.’ It’s not quite that simple, especially when you have people that are doing things like seeking asylum and people that are saying, ‘Listen, I’m just trying to make sure that I can live a better life.’ You have Trump that goes out there, him and his minions, and they say things like, ‘You know what? We’re only going to get rid of the bad ones.’ People sit there, and they’re like, ‘Wait a minute. You’re going to come to my job where I’m working, and I may be paying into taxes or whatever, or my kids are at school?’ I think that there’s going to be a rude awakening, really, on all sides.

When given a chance to respond, Homan started by saying, “I forgot more about this issue than she’ll ever know. I mean, for God’s sake, I’ve been doing this for 34 years.”
