FACT CHECK: Flags To Be At Half-Mast For President Trump’s Inauguration

The rumor mill is running rampant with news that flags will be flown at half-mast for President Trump’s inauguration on January 20th.

I won’t leave you in suspense — yes, that is fact.

But it isn’t because of a Deep State swipe at President Trump or some final plan cooked up by Jill Biden to dampen the mood on inauguration day.

The reality is much more simple.

The U.S. flag code actually requires that the flag be flown at half-mast, or “half-staff”, for a specific duration after the death of a President — sitting, or former.

That time frame, according to a report in Newsweek, is 30 days.

Flags will be lowered to half-staff during President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration in January.

President Joe Biden has ordered U.S. flags to fly at half-staff for 30 days from Sunday in honor of Jimmy Carter, the longest-lived American president who died at 100. That means flags will remain lowered when Trump is sworn in for a second term on January 20.

U.S. flag code requires flags to be flown at half-staff for 30 days from the death of a sitting or former president.

Carter died peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his home in Plains, Georgia, on Sunday, The Carter Center said in a statement.

His death came about 22 months after he entered hospice care and just over a year after the death of his wife Rosalynn, who died at 96 in November last year.

What the U.S. flag code does not stipulate is the gloating that is currently happening by Trump-haters.

Since the U.S. flag will be flown half-mast during President Trump’s inauguration in order to comply with code, leftists are expecting President Trump to throw a proper fit.

Keep in mind, while Biden used the occasion of Jimmy Carter’s death to take a swipe at President Trump, Trump was behaving rather presidentially and with grace.

But Biden isn't the only one taking advantage of the situation; plenty of Trump-haters are gloating over the inaugural flag placement.

January 9th will be the official day of national mourning.

Biden has ordered that Carter's body lie in state at the Capitol prior to a state funeral, according to a report in the Daily Mail:

Standard protocol states that all flags should be flown at half mast at federal buildings for 30 days following the death of a former president.

President Joe Biden revealed on Sunday afternoon Carter will receive a state funeral.

'To honor a great American, I will be ordering an official state funeral to be held in Washington D.C. for James Earl Carter, Jr., 39th President of the United States, 76th Governor of Georgia, Lieutenant of the United States Navy, graduate of the United States Naval Academy, and favorite son of Plains, Georgia, who gave his full life in service to God and country,' Biden said.

Carter's body will lie in state at the Capitol Rotunda on January 9.

That solemn proclamation hasn't stopped the flow of Trump-haters who seem overjoyed at Carter's death, simply because it means the flags will be lowered during President Trump's inauguration.

Meanwhile, President Trump is hitting a completely different tone.

One of grace and respect, even in the fact of sharp differences.

As usual, those attacking President Trump are being upstaged by maturity.

It looks like the adults are in charge again, after all.

Rather than throw a pity party and complain that the flag won't be at full mast for his big day, he is doing just the opposite -- issuing condolences for his political enemies.

One would think the fakery surrounding Kamala's "joyful" campaign would have been enough to teach the Left a lesson about mudslinging; a reminder that you just end up with mud on yourself!

But there is a reason President Trump won, and the democrats lost; and it wasn't because the democrats were good at learning lessons.

Quite the opposite, actually.

So come January 20th, a good portion of Jimmy Carter's own party will be GLAD he died, for no other reason than the possible irking of President Trump.

And while democrats gloat over some minor possible irritation for their victorious enemy, the Trump train will be pulling in to the station; enacting true change.
