BREAKING: Jack Smith Drops Trump’s Co-Defendants Classified Documents Case!

Special counsel Jack Smith’s team has passed the torch to the Southern District of Florida.

This is in regards to the classified docs case involving President Donald Trump’s co-defendants.

Smith dropped his appeal against Trump last month, citing the DOJ’s no-go rule on prosecuting sitting presidents.

But the co-defendants, Walt Nauta and Carlos De Oliveira, are still being targeted.

They have pleaded not guilty to a list of charges, including tampering with Mar-a-Lago surveillance footage.

It will be interesting to see how this continues without all the drama that Jack Smith was able to bring to this case.

Special counsel Jack Smith’s team has withdrawn from their appeal of the classified documents case against President-elect Donald Trump’s co-defendants and referred the case to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida, according to a court filing Monday afternoon.

Smith last month dropped his appeal against Trump due to a longstanding Department of Justice policy prohibiting the prosecution of a sitting president, but his team continued to pursue their appeal against Trump’s two co-defendants in the case, longtime Trump aide Walt Nauta and Mar-a-Lago employee Carlos De Oliveira.

Trump pleaded not guilty in June 2023 to 37 criminal counts related to his handling of classified materials, after prosecutors said he repeatedly refused to return hundreds of documents containing classified information ranging from U.S. nuclear secrets to the nation’s defense capabilities, and took steps to thwart the government’s efforts to get the documents back.

The former president, along with Nauta and De Oliveira, also pleaded not guilty in a superseding indictment to allegedly attempting to delete surveillance footage at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.

If Day 1 agenda is the border, can Day 2 agenda deal with this guy?

Newsmax adds:

Legal troubles for Nauta, Trump’s personal valet, and de Oliveira, a Mar-a-Lago property manager, remain unresolved. Both men face serious allegations, including obstruction of justice, making false statements to investigators, and concealing government documents.

The charges stem from accusations that the pair participated in a broader conspiracy to hide boxes of thousands of records from federal investigators and Trump’s then-attorney. These records included approximately 300 documents bearing classified markings.

Investigators allege that the documents were improperly taken from the White House at the end of Trump’s presidency and not returned to the National Archives as required by law.
