Fani Willis, the disgraced district attorney of Fulton County, Georgia, was booted from her case against President Donald Trump over allegations about her inappropriate relationship with a special prosecutor.
She will potentially be facing even more accountability in the form of a subpoena handed down by the state Senate.

According to TheBlaze:
In August, a Republican-led Georgia Senate committee subpoenaed Willis, seeking her testimony as part of its investigation into her alleged misconduct.
However, Willis’ attorney, former Georgia Gov. Roy Barnes (D), contended that the Senate committee lacked the authority to compel her testimony. He further claimed that the subpoenas were overly broad and unrelated to legislative needs.
Fulton County Superior Court Judge Shukura Ingram filed an order Monday ruling that the state Senate can subpoena Willis. Additionally, Willis was instructed that if she would like to submit arguments against the subpoenas, she must wait to do so until January 13.
Barnes told the Associated Press, “We believe the ruling is wrong and will appeal.”
ADVERTISEMENTGeorgia’s current legislative term is slated to end on January 13, effectively terminating the Senate committee currently investigating Willis. However, Sen. Greg Dolezal (R) stated he will file legislation to reopen the committee for the 2025 session.
Elected officials and pundits alike reacted to the development via social media:
Judge Ingram has ruled the state Senate does indeed have the power to subpoena D.A. Fani Willis.

Here’s a relevant excerpt from the X post above:
As previously reported, Fani Willis is trying to block subpoenas requiring her to testify before a Georgia State Senate Committee about her relationship with Nathan Wade after she was caught perjuring herself.
Fani Willis had an illicit affair with Nathan Wade, the top prosecutor she hired to hunt down Trump in her RICO and conspiracy case against the former president.
In February 2024 Fani Willis testified under oath that her relationship with her then-top prosecutor Nathan Wade had ended months ago.
Fani Willis skipped the hearing in September even though she was subpoenaed by a special state committee.
ADVERTISEMENT“Let’s please note for the record that Ms. Willis has failed to appear in compliance with the subpoena and has failed to produce documents requested,” Committee chairman Senator Bill Cowsert said in September.
Fox News also provided coverage of the events leading up to the most recent ruling:
Earlier this month, an appeals court removed Willis from the Georgia election interference case against Trump and others, citing an “appearance of impropriety.” The panel also cited the romantic relationship between Willis and special prosecutor Nathan Wade.
“This is the rare case in which disqualification is mandated and no other remedy will suffice to restore public confidence in the integrity of these proceedings,” the court said.
At the time, Trump called the case a “disgrace to justice.”
“It was started by the Biden DOJ as an attack on his political opponent, Donald Trump,” he said, “They used anyone and anybody, and she has been disqualified, and her boyfriend has been disqualified, and they stole funds and went on trips.”
And here’s how one prominent GOP lawmaker reacted to Willis’ ongoing reversal of fortune:
