Teamsters President Describes Meeting With Kamala Harris: “I’m Going To Win With Or Without You”

In an interview with Tucker Carlson, Teamsters President Sean O’Brien described a meeting with Kamala Harris before the 2024 presidential election.

Before the election, O’Brien’s union made the impactful decision not to endorse a presidential candidate for the first time in decades.

He recalled that they have a list of 16 questions for candidates.

President Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. answered all 16 questions.

Joe Biden answered five questions.

O’Brien recounted a member of the union’s general executive board introducing herself to Kamala Harris at an event.

According to O’Brien, Harris told her, “Teamsters, you better get on board.”

“D***. I thought I was arrogant. That’s really arrogant,” Carlson commented.

“That’s the attitude of this whole party,” O’Brien said.

O’Brien said Harris answered three questions when she finally came in for a meeting.

“On the fourth question, one of her operatives or one of her staff slips a note in front of me – ‘This will be the last question.’ And it was 20 minutes earlier than the time it was going to end,” he explained.

“And her declaration of the way out was, ‘I’m going to win with you or without you,’’ he added.

From the New York Post:

The union president said he had met Biden before he ended his reelection bid and was concerned at his decline — saying the Democrats’ initial plan to run the 82-year-old for a second term “kinda looked like elderly abuse.”

“We had Biden in there and you could just clearly tell he was not the man he was. It was kinda sad,” O’Brien said, adding that Biden was a good president for workers.

Weeks before the election, O’Brien announced that for the first time since 1996 the Teamsters would not be endorsing a presidential candidate after years of a relatively reliable alliance with Democrats.

In fact, the union revealed its 1.3 million members overwhelmingly supported Trump over Harris 59.6% to 34%.

Before Biden withdrew, he’d held a steady lead of 44.3% to Trump’s 36.3%.

The Teamsters backed the Biden-Harris ticket in 2020 and endorsed Hillary Clinton over Trump in 2016.

Daily Mail noted:

He also confirmed what many have believed of Joe Biden when he met with him, long after he’d initially asked and long after Trump had committed to the same process.

‘We had Biden in there and you could just clearly tell he was, not the man he was. It was kinda sad.’

He’d said Biden was good for the labor movement and saw him personally as: ‘A nice older man, a nice older gentleman.’

However, it was clear to O’Brien in his meetings with the president that he’d lost a step.
