MSNBC has been largely focused on attacking President Donald Trump on a daily basis for much of the past decade, but things might be changing, if only slightly, now that he is headed back to the White House with a clear mandate from the American people to restore his MAGA agenda.
Signaling a possible shift in the network’s editorial stance, on-air contributor Sam Stein offered what appeared to be a genuine statement of praise for Trump’s political perseverance.
As the Daily Caller reported:
“In terms of what we’re talking about, we were also thinking a year ago this would be the courtroom campaign. How would he wage his run for the office from the courthouse? Ended up being that he leveraged it, frankly,” Stein said. “I think the real lesson from all this is that, you know, say what you will about Donald Trump, but he has one attribute that distinguishes him from anyone else in politics, which is an insatiable perseverance. He will just grind through stuff that, more often than not, other politicians will succumb to. And he can figure it out, he will just claw his way back in and he will fight it. And then he’ll turn it into his advantage. And he did martyr himself by the trials.”
“He did get the rest of the Republican Party to rally around him. And I think if you talk to people in his universe, look, there was a time when the primary itself was uncertain, right? [Republican Florida Gov.] Ron DeSantis looked ascendant, it was unclear if he could win but it certainly seemed possible,” he continued. “And then what happened was the indictment came down, and everyone, including DeSantis, rushed to Trump’s side. I think that ultimately Trump managed to use that and leverage that to the nomination. That changed the course of history.”
Trump’s ability to not only survive the warfare waged against him but also gain support was truly a sight for the American people to behold.
His legal challenges provided endless fodder for supporters to cast aspersions against prosecutors and the Biden administration:
LOL – A corrupt all Dem prosecutor, judge & jury "convicted" Trump on trumped up charges with no victim cobbled together from an expired misdemeanor with a ludicrous "legal theory" never used in any case in history. The appellate court is giving it some serious side eye. 👀 pic.twitter.com/6RyDKlWrjc

To his credit, Trump predicted from the outset that this strategy would backfire on Democrats, as Newsweek reported last year:
A clip of Trump speaking outside court, shared on TikTok last Monday and since viewed more than 1.3 million times, showed him saying: “If I weren’t leading in all the polls or if I weren’t running, I wouldn’t have any of these cases.
“I wouldn’t be seeing you this morning, so we’ll go in and see our rogue judge, and we’ll listen to this man, and I think most people get it. People are getting it, I can tell you voters are getting it because every time they give me a fake indictment I go up in the polls and that has never happened before.”
The cases against Trump that haven’t yet been dropped are continually becoming weaker, as this recent update reveals:
