‘Excuse My French’: Teamsters President GOES OFF On Kamala Harris During Interview With Tucker Carlson

Joe Biden likes to refer to himself, with dubious accuracy, as the most pro-union president in the history of the United States. When Kamala Harris stepped in to replace him as the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee, however, one top labor union leader says things quickly changed for the worse.

The Teamsters Union has generally endorsed Democrats in previous elections but opted not to issue an endorsement this year, and its president opened up this week about Harris’ attitude toward unions.

Sean O’Brien shared his take on the matter during an appearance on prominent commentator Tucker Carlson’s podcast, as the Daily Caller reported:

“They’re going through the line to get the picture, and Joan introduces herself to Vice President Harris [and] says, ‘I’m Joan Corey. I’m on the general executive board for the Teamsters.’ She [Harris] goes, ‘Teamsters? You better get on board. Better get on board soon.’ Says it to my vice president,” O’Brien said.

“To her face?” Carlson asked. “Damn, I thought I was arrogant. That’s really arrogant!”

O’Brien continued, saying that he then called former Democratic U.S. Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh to relay Harris‘ reaction, warning about her tone toward the union.

“So she comes back. We have the meeting the next day,” O’Brien said. “She tells me this. So I call up Marty Walsh — he wasn’t the secretary of Labor, but, you know, he was pushing hard for us to make the endorsement. I’m like, ‘Let me ask you a question, Marty. Excuse my French. Who does this fucking lady think she is?’ If I want support from any organization I am not gonna point my finger in someone’s face and say, ‘You better get on board or else.’ But that’s the attitude of this whole party.”

Harris only agreed to that interview after the group had pressured her, O’Brien told Carlson. O’Brien had earlier conducted media interviews saying that the Democrats hadn’t invited the labor union to their convention and that Harris hadn’t accepted the roundtable discussion.

After releasing a survey showing that Teamsters members overwhelmingly preferred President Donald Trump to Harris, many spoke up in hopes of convincing union leaders to endorse the GOP candidate:

The Daily Mail revisited comments O’Brien made earlier this year about his own political affiliation:

‘I’m a Democrat but they have f***** us over for the last 40 years and for once we’re standing up as a union saying what the f*** have you done for us?’ O’Brien said in scathing remarks.

‘I’m getting attacked from the left you know and since I’ve been in office over two and a half years we’ve given the Democratic machine $15.7 million.

‘We’ve given Republicans about $340,000 truth be told, so it’s like you know people say the Democratic party is the party of working people, but they’re actually bought and paid for by big tech,’ O’Brien explained.

‘Now you’ve got the Republicans who are now saying “Hey we want to be the working class party!” and okay you’ve got a great opportunity right now to do that.
