FBI Raids Home Of Los Angeles Deputy Mayor


The deputy mayor of Los Angeles home was raided after authorities believed he made a bomb threat against the City Hall earlier in the year.

The FBI raided Los Angeles Deputy Mayor Brian Williams’s home on Tuesday after an investigation was launched regarding a bomb threat that was made against the City Hall.

Williams wasn’t arrested during the search but was placed on leave.

The mayor’s office said in a statement, “Williams was immediately placed on administrative leave. The Mayor takes this matter very seriously.”

The deputy mayor of Los Angeles was placed on leave after an investigation allegedly determined he made a bomb threat against City Hall earlier this year.

FOX 11 in Los Angeles reported that LA Deputy Mayor Brian Williams’ Pasadena, California home was raided by the FBI on Tuesday in connection with an investigation into a bomb threat against City Hall back in September. The FBI did not make any arrests at the time of the search.

On Wednesday, LA Mayor Karen Bass’s office released a statement on Williams’ being placed on leave.

“The Mayor’s Office was notified that the FBI searched the home of Deputy Mayor Brian Williams yesterday as part of an investigation into a bomb threat he allegedly made against City Hall earlier this year,” LA deputy mayor of communications Zach Seidl said in the statement provided to Fox News Digital. “He was immediately placed on administrative leave. The Mayor takes this matter very seriously.”

FBI agents on Tuesday raided the home of Los Angeles Deputy Mayor Brian Williams in connection with a bomb threat he allegedly made against City Hall earlier this year, a spokesperson for Mayor Karen Bass said.

The mayor’s office was notified of the search, according to a statement released Wednesday afternoon by Bass’s spokesperson Zach Seidl.

Williams “was immediately placed on administrative leave,” the statement said. “The Mayor takes this matter very seriously. When the threat was reported, LAPD investigated and determined there was no immediate danger. Following additional investigation, LAPD referred this matter to the FBI for further investigation.”
