She became a household name as racing’s most prominent female driver, but in recent years Danica Patrick has made headlines for her outspoken defense of America-first policies.
During a speech at a recent Turning Point USA event, she offered a scathing take on the Democratic Party’s current ideology.
According to Outkick:
Don’t you guys find it amazing that you can say, “I love this country,” and it means you’re a Republican? That you can wear an American flag, and it means you’re Republican. Why aren’t these things American?
Amen, Danica! Vroom vroom, sister.
She’s 100% right, by the way. Been that way for years. Every time the wife and I are out, and I spot some dude wearing an American flag shirt or something along those lines, I turn to her and ask, ‘Who you reckon he voted for?’
Now, I’ve used that same line for four years now, so I’m sure she’s beyond annoyed by it. But, I chuckle every time, so I’m gonna keep going back to the well until she slaps me.
A clip from her speech is included below, but first let’s take a look at some of her other provocative political and patriotic punditry:
I have always loved this country and I will do whatever it takes to be able say that without worrying who I might trigger and to be able wear that jacket again without it being a political stance!!!!! Who’s with me?! 🇺🇸
Think about how wild it is that saying I love this country… pic.twitter.com/3dHae7xHYY

If you would have told me a year ago I would speak at a @realdonaldtrump rally 12 days before the election and have him call me out a few times during his speech😳…. I would have asked if you fell out of the coconut tree. 🤣

Patrick also had an enthusiastic reaction to Time magazine’s decision to once again bestow its “Person of the Year” honor to President Donald Trump.
As Newsweek reported earlier this month:
Former NASCAR and IndyCar driver Danica Patrick has issued a strong endorsement of Donald Trump following his recognition as TIME Magazine’s Person of the Year.
Donald Trump, who secured victory in the November presidential election against Kamala Harris, was celebrated by TIME for being the most influential figure on the global stage over the past year. Trump’s political presence has dominated American politics since he began his presidential campaign in 2015; and this recent recognition cements his enduring influence.
Patrick, who played an active role in supporting Trump during his 2024 presidential campaign, voiced her approval of TIME’s decision by sharing a photo of Trump labelled “Man of the Year” on Instagram.
An enthusiastic backer of Trump, Patrick attended numerous campaign rallies and was directly involved in the political campaign for the first time in her life. Her comprehensive support for Trump marked a stark contrast to her previous detachment from political activities, as she had not voted in prior elections.
Here’s a clip from her remarks at the recent event:
