Time for a Fact-Check!
Because we don’t shy away from controversial stories around here, but we also don’t publish Fake News.
So, which is it on this one?
Let’s dig in….
A video is going viral on X claiming to show the voice of Barbara Bush and it sounds very, ummm, manly.
Take a look:

Backup here if needed:
Do you think Big Mike was the only male first lady?

That definitely sounds like a man, but….is it authentic?
I went digging to find out.
And I found the exact same video on YouTube!
I’ve cued it up at the exact same spot as the clip above (if it doesn’t work jump to 3:54 mark), take a look for yourself:
So clearly the original was edited in some way, perhaps slowed down to lower the sound of the voice.
But I have to say, a very well done edit, it doesn’t look or feel fake at all!
So I think we can resolve that one as FAKE NEWS!
But still a question persists online that many people believe Barbara Bush LOOKS like a man too.
This is not me saying it, I’m just showing you what many people believe:

Ok, I have to say that these do have some “manly” vibes to them.
What do you think?
There’s a definite “toughness” to her look, an edge. A manly edge.
Doesn’t mean anything and I’m not here to judge people by their looks, I’m just asking questions.
Here’s the last thing we’ll dig into….
Even deeper down the rabbit hole are people who believe Barbara Bush was actually the son of perhaps the most evil man to ever live, Aleister Crowley:
Is Barbara Bush related to the most demonic man ever to live Aleister Crowley? pic.twitter.com/9UCGaLE3Gc

I have a list but to pick one I will just pick this one. Barbara Bush is the daughter of the wickedest man to ever live Aleister Crowley! 💩 pic.twitter.com/KKwxTkwgQ7

You have to admit, the resemblance is quite uncanny!
I went ahead and asked Grok and Grok thinks that’s just a Conspiracy Theory:
The claim that Barbara Bush is the child of Aleister Crowley has circulated as a conspiracy theory but lacks credible evidence to substantiate it. Here are the key points from different perspectives:
Against the Claim:
Barbara Bush was officially the daughter of Marvin Pierce and Pauline Robinson Pierce. Official records from the White House archives and the National First Ladies Library support this relationship. The theory originated from an April Fool’s Day blog post in 2006 by Joseph Cannon, intended as a hoax to test conspiracy theorists. This was later confirmed by Cannon himself to be a satirical piece, not based on factual evidence.
Fact-checking organizations like USA Today and Reuters have debunked the theory, stating clearly that there is no evidence linking Crowley to Barbara Bush as her father.
In Favor of the Claim (Conspiracy Theory Perspective):
Some sources online and posts on social media platforms like X have perpetuated this theory, often citing supposed resemblances between Crowley and Bush, or connecting it to broader conspiracy theories about influential families and occultism. There are mentions of Pauline Pierce (Barbara Bush’s mother) being in the same social circles as Crowley around 1924, which some have used to speculate about a possible affair, though no concrete evidence supports this speculation.
ADVERTISEMENTConclusion:
While the conspiracy theory has gained some traction in fringe communities, the overwhelming evidence from reputable sources confirms that Barbara Bush was not the child of Aleister Crowley. The theory is largely based on speculation, misinterpretation, and lacks any substantial proof. It’s essential to approach such claims with skepticism and demand verifiable evidence.
