One individual has died and four others sustained injuries after a freight train struck a semi-truck.
“Watch dramatic footage of a freight train slamming into a semi-truck stranded on the tracks in Pecos, Texas. The devastating collision caused a major derailment, sending debris flying and partially collapsing a nearby building,” Rawsalerts wrote.
“Emergency services have rushed to the scene to assess the situation. Meanwhile, local authorities are urging residents to avoid the area for their safety and to allow first responders to handle the unfolding emergency,” the post added.

One person is dead, and four others were injured after a tractor trailer was struck by a train in Pecos on Wednesday, Pecos City Manager Charles Lino said. The crash happened shortly before 5 p.m.
The train derailed near Oak Street and Dot Stafford Street, hitting the Chamber of Commerce building.
ADVERTISEMENTOne person was seriously injured and transported to Odessa, while three others were treated at Reeves Regional Health.
Lino said there were three cars with “potentially hazmat material” inside. None of those had any breach. Currently, the only reported breach was of diesel fuel from the engine.

• Southbound Traffic on Highway 285 is being diverted to F Street and County Road 1216.
