Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-IN) said she will not caucus with Republicans or participate in committees.
“I will stay as a registered Republican but will not sit on committees or participate in the caucus until I see that Republican leadership in Congress is governing. I do not need to be involved in circuses,” Spartz said.
“I would rather spend more of my time helping @DOGE and @RepThomasMassie to save our Republic, as was mandated by the American people,” she added.

From POLITICO:
The decision to step down confused some Republicans, but others suspected the move had something to do with the House GOP Steering Committee not giving her a coveted post on the House Ways and Means Committee, according to two people with direct knowledge of the matter.
Spartz, who has had problems with retaining staff, said she’d prefer to “spend more of my time helping” the mission of the so-called Department of Government Efficiency, which is meant to help cut government spending.
Some Republicans are happy about her decision to boycott the conference meetings, according to two people familiar with the situation, as some had privately complained about her speaking too much during the internal GOP meetings.

On Tuesday, Spartz released a statement on her refusal to participate in the Republican conference, its committees and resignation from the regional policy committee chair.
“This election the American people sent a resounding message and mandate to the Republican party to govern – not deliver talking points and messaging bills. Our country is on a fiscal collision course and it will take some courage and structural changes in Congress to challenge the status quo, which is not happening. As a serious legislator and finance professional, not a clown, I am not going to continue being involved in circuses,” Spartz said.
“I would rather spend my energy helping President Trump, his appointees and DOGE to deliver on their promises through reconciliation. And I will be working hard doing real work for the people I represent – not presentations in committees for the lobbyists, spectacles and posts on Facebook and X to raise money. The swamp will be back in business in four years if not drained through the law. Congress cannot fail President Trump and the American people again,” she added.
President Trump @realDonaldTrump has one year and two reconciliations to save our Republic! Congress cannot fail him and the American people again.

Spartz criticized House Speaker Mike Johnson on the proposed continuing resolution bill.
“Speaker Johnson didn’t even talk to moderate Republicans, not just to conservatives,” Spartz said.
“He just made a deal with Democrats, put a bunch of slush funds, what they wanted, put little things that maybe he can try to push some Republicans to vote and try to sell,” she added.

The Hill reports:
DOGE is an advisory commission developed by Trump aimed at government reform and spending cuts. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and biotech entrepreneur — and the president-elect’s former GOP primary rival — Vivek Ramaswamy were tapped to head DOGE.
In recognition that spending cuts cannot take place without congressional say-so, members have formed counterpart caucuses on Capitol Hill. The group is led by Reps. Aaron Bean (R-Fla.) and Pete Sessions (R-Texas) in the House and by Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) in the Senate.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) will also chair a new subcommittee within the House Oversight and Accountability Committee with the same acronym, called the Delivering on Government Efficiency subcommittee, next year.
Spartz has long been critical of wasteful government spending. In her post Monday, Spartz was responding to an earlier post from Rep. Thomas Massie’s (R-Ky.) that he would help Ramaswamy in getting lawmakers to follow the mission of DOGE.
