Per Semafor:
Lake has echoed Trump in backing strict limits on immigration. On the campaign trail, Lake described the influx of migrants entering the US as an “invasion.”
She campaigned on finishing the wall at the US southern border, increasing the number of judges who hear asylum claims, stepping up quick deportations of undocumented immigrants who cross outside official ports of entry and building additional border detention facilities.
As US ambassador to Mexico, Lake would be responsible for engaging with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum’s government on a host of contentious issues, including migration, counternarcotics, and Trump’s pledge to enact new tariffs on imports.

A Newsmax spokesperson denied it spoke to Lake about joining the network.
“We have had ZERO discussions with Kari Lake to join Newsmax,” the spokesperson said, according to Mediaite.
Lake reportedly responded by text, saying, “Get better sources.”
According to an op-ed in the Arizona Republic, the possibility of Lake becoming ambassador to Mexico was discussed by Mexican journalists.

From the Arizona Republic:
That possibility is circulating among Mexican journalists, including the newspaper Reforma, which printed in its opinion section that Lake might be Trump’s pick to replace outgoing U.S. Ambassador Ken Salazar.
Who knows what Trump will do, but I wouldn’t put it past him to send Lake far away and stick it to Mexico in a major way.
