Pastor Rob Goodman:
Good morning, everyone. Today is Sunday, December the 8th, and I am Pastor Rob Goodman. I’m here to be with you today again this Sunday. It’s great to have you with me today. Glory be to God in the highest, and may His name be extolled and lifted high forevermore.

Well, today we are going to continue on the same path that we’ve been teaching on about the Tabernacle of Moses. Today, we’re going to talk about the Holy Place, and this is where only the priest could enter in and serve inside the Holy Place.

As you walked into the Tabernacle, you had the Outer Court, which was the Brazen Altar. Then you had the Laver, where the priest would make sure that they were clean and washed, ritually clean, so to speak. Then as they entered into the Tabernacle, to the right-hand side, there was the Table of Showbread, and that’s what we’re going to spend our time talking about today—the Table of Showbread, what it points to, and what it exactly means.

Let me get a sip of my water here, and I will be right with you. Thank you—coffee, I mean.

Well, all right. So, as I just said, when you walked into the Holy Place and looked straight ahead, you would see the Altar of Incense. That was the last piece of furniture before you went into the veil to the Holy of Holies, where the Ark of the Covenant was. To the right was the Table of Showbread, and to the left was the Candlestick—the Menorah—that was always lit and never went out.

Praise be to God. That’s what we’re going to dwell on today. So, let me look at my notes rather quickly here.

The first piece of furniture in the Holy Place was the Table of Showbread. This points to the Word of God and fellowship with Christ, the Bread of Life. So let’s go to John chapter 6. We’re going to start reading with verse 35. Actually, let’s pray first.

[Prayer begins.]
Father, we give you this message today. I ask you, Lord, to anoint it in the name of Jesus. I thank you, Father, that you speak through these lips of clay today and that you will speak to your people. Lord, I receive your anointing. I receive your anointing in the mighty name of Jesus.

That you, Lord, have your way through this vessel, Lord. You’ve promised me and spoken to me many times that you’ve placed your word in my mouth, and like your prophet Jeremiah, I will speak them, Lord, as you command me, so shall I speak.

So, Lord, I yield my lips to you. I yield my spirit, my soul, my entire body unto you, O Lord. Have your way with me. Do as you wish with those that are listening, Lord. Thank you for bringing this message across the pathways of those that need to hear it. May it brighten their day. May it speak directly to their heart.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we give you praise. We give you thanks in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord, for your blessing. Thank you, Jesus. Lord, we worship you, the King of Glory. O, we worship you, Jesus, the King of Glory. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. In Jesus’ name, amen. Glory to God.

All right, let’s start reading in John chapter 6. We’re going to look at verse 35.

[Scripture reading begins.]
“And Jesus said to them, ‘I am the Bread of Life. He who comes to me shall never hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will by no means cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but to do the will of Him who sent me. This is the will of the Father who sent me, that of all He has given me, I should lose nothing but should raise it up at the last day. And this is the will of Him who sent me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life, and I will raise him up at the last day.’”

What a tremendous promise from Jesus right here, that He will raise us up, even as He was raised up in the resurrection. We are promised. We have that seal. We have the earnest of expectation. Praise be to God. We have the seal. We’re sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, and we have the covenant of everlasting life.

And that covenant will never be broken unless you and I choose to break it. But God will never break it. He will never break it, and He is faithful. He’s faithful. He’s faithful. He is faithful. Blessed be the name of Jesus.

Thank you, Lord.

Then the Jews complained about Him because He said, “I am the Bread which came down from heaven.”

And they said, “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, ‘I have come down from heaven’?”

Jesus, therefore, answered and said to them, “Do not murmur among yourselves. No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.”

He keeps saying, “I will raise him up.” What a tremendous promise this is.

Jesus continues:
“It is written in the Prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore, everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me. Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father. Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. I am the Bread of Life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they are dead. This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die.

I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

The Jews, therefore, quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?”

Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. This is the bread which came down from heaven—not as your fathers ate the manna and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.”

These things He said in the synagogue as He taught in Capernaum.

Now, you know they got ticked off at Him for that. They didn’t like one thing that He had to say because He was pointing to Himself. They looked at Him as a man. Their carnal thinking looked at Him as just a normal, everyday man. But Jesus, being born of the Virgin Mary—He had to be born of the Virgin Mary because if He had not been born and impregnated by the Holy Spirit, He would have had sin in Him.

Jesus was the perfect Lamb of God who took away the sin of the world. That’s what John the Baptist said of Him: “You are the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.”

What a beautiful, beautiful promise we have, that Jesus—the sinless Jesus—took all of man’s sin on Him when He went to the Cross. He became the sacrifice for our sins. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

You and I are now washed in His blood. We’re washed in His blood. As we eat and drink His blood and eat His flesh, you and I are made one with Him through the Father.

Man, what a tremendous, tremendous promise. Hallelujah.

So, let’s read on just a little bit here. Hard to believe, when I was young, growing up, that we’d have a Bible in a phone. Isn’t that crazy? I like the idea because it’s very handy for me. I prepare all my messages on it and everything like that.

But it’s wonderful that anytime, no matter where I’m at, I can bring up the Scriptures and meditate on the promises of God. It’s just wonderful to know that.

Jesus continues His teaching:
“Therefore, many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, ‘This is a hard saying; who can understand it?’

When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, ‘Does this offend you? What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before? It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. But there are some of you who do not believe.’

For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe and who would betray Him. And He said, ‘Therefore, I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.'”

At this point, many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. They couldn’t hear it—they just couldn’t.

Just like many of the Jewish people at the base of Mount Horeb, when they were struck in fear and terror, they could not hear the Word of God. They literally cried out, “Stop speaking to us like this!” It’s amazing to me.

Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?”

But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Also, we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?” He spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, for it was he who would betray Him, being one of the twelve.

Man, I’m telling you, that is something else.

[Shifts focus to Hebrews Chapter 4.]
Let’s go to Hebrews chapter 4. All right, Hebrews chapter 4, starting with verse 12:

“For the Word of God is living and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.”

That amazes me—that God knows every thought. He knows everything I think. He reads everything that goes through my mind. He knows when my thoughts are good. He knows when my thoughts are not good. He knows when I’m holding judgment against someone, and He knows when I’m in right thinking and agreement with Him.

[Moves to Psalm 119.]
Now, let’s turn to Psalm 119. Let’s look at verses 49 and 50:

“Remember the Word to Your servant, upon which You have caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your Word has given me life.”

Wow. Your Word—Jesus said, “I am the Bread of Life.” Jesus was the living Word of God, right? According to John chapter 1: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

Jesus came and tabernacled among us. He was the Word of God who became flesh and blood. He chose to live upon this earth, to live a spotless, holy, sinless life for you and for me.

[Goes to Psalm 19.]
Let’s jump to Psalm 19, starting with verse 7:

“The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.”

Man, the promises of God are amazing, aren’t they?

Pastor Rob Goodman:
“Moreover, by them, Your servant is warned, and in keeping them, there is great reward. Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, and I shall be innocent of great transgression.”

Man, you know what the great transgression is? That’s the sin that Adam sinned. I’ll become innocent of it because when you get born again, the Word of God—we’re born of the Word of God, right?

We’re born of the Word of God when the Word of God is believed on in our hearts. We believe that God raised Jesus from the dead, that He went to the Cross, and He became sin for us who knew no sin, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

When that happens and we believe the Word of God, instantly, we receive the new life of Jesus in our spirit. Then, as we grow and mature in the Lord, our soulish nature gets changed. Our feelings, our desires, the things we want, the things we long for—all of it changes.

As we walk and allow our flesh to be crucified, you and I will become more and more like Jesus, and we will bear His image. And you know what? We’re going to receive a reward for that in heaven.

This crucified life goes on for our whole life. We don’t just get out of sin by praying a prayer. Of course, in a way, that’s true, but you and I, when we believe the Word of God, something happens on the inside. We are changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye.

Our spirit is born of God. Now, we’ve got the resurrection life of Jesus Christ living inside of us, and our entire life changes. God begins to work in us.

All of you who have ever been born again, you know what I’m talking about. Everything in your life has changed. It’s changed forever. Praise be to God. Isn’t that good news?

He said, “Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, and I shall be innocent of the great transgression. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.”

Hallelujah. Blessed be the name of Jesus. The Lord is so good.

[Moves to Psalm 18.]
Let’s go to Psalm 18. Starting with verse 1:

“I will love You, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.”

Man, what a powerful declaration.

[Continues Psalm reading…]
“The pangs of death surrounded me, and the floods of ungodliness made me afraid. The sorrows of Sheol surrounded me; the snares of death confronted me. In my distress, I called upon the Lord and cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, and my cry came before Him, even to His ears. Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of the hills also quaked and were shaken, because He was angry. Smoke went up from His nostrils, and devouring fire from His mouth; coals were kindled by it.”

Man, God is faithful.

[Final Prayer and Closing Message]
Father, we thank You for this Word today. I pray for anyone listening to this message who does not know You, Jesus. I ask You right now to show Yourself strong to those whose hearts are right toward You. Lord, make their way perfect. Guide them into the Kingdom. Let the Word of God have first place in their lives in Jesus’ name.

Lord, I pray for anyone who has not found a body of believers where they live. Raise up a body of believers that will help them grow in the things of the Lord. Minister to them, no matter where they live. Hallelujah. God is so good.

Now, if you’ve never met the Lord before, I want you to pray this prayer with me:

“Father, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God. I believe that Jesus Christ paid for my sins. I believe, Father, that You raised Him from the dead on the third day. You, Lord, have anointed Your Son, and You sent Him to earth to die for me. Now, I receive His blood to cleanse my sin—every sin that I’ve ever committed. Let it be washed away in the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You, Lord.

In Jesus’ name, I praise You, and I thank You. You are my God, and I trust You, Lord. Come into my heart, Jesus. Cause me to be born again in the mighty name of Jesus.”

If you prayed that prayer, I’d like you to get in touch with me. You can email me at ZionFreedomFellowship (at) gmail.com. I’ll answer your emails personally, and I’ll begin to pray for you.

If there’s any way I can spiritually help you grow in the Lord, I desire to see the body of Christ walk in their calling. God has a calling on your life, and He wants to do a great work in you.

“Until we meet again next Sunday, may God bless you, fill you with His peace, and allow you to live triumphantly and victoriously in Christ. God’s will is for you to be more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

It is God’s will for you to be more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you.

In Jesus’ name, amen and amen.

We love you. Blessings.

And those of you that are regular members of my church, thank you for coming. You’re a big part of this ministry, and we love you all so much.

We thank you for your gifts to the church that help us do more for the Kingdom of God. God is faithful. Yes, He is truly faithful. He is mighty—He’s a mighty, mighty God.

You and I do not have to be afraid.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

Well, again, take care. Love you all very much. May God richly bless you.

In Jesus’ name, amen. Take care, guys. Take care. Take care. Love you guys very much.
