BREAKING: Damascus Is Taken! President Trump Responds As Syria Falls To ISIS-Friendly CIA-Backed Al-Qaeda Forces

In just the last few days, rebel groups who have long been fighting a war against Russian-backed Bashar Al-Assad’s forces in Syria have made lightning fast advances across the country.

In the last few hours, Damascus has reportedly been taken.

Bashar Al-Assad and his family are rumored to have fled the country — or at least attempted to.  (More on that shortly.)

Here is the current scene from inside Damascus.

Mohammad Ghazi al-Jalali, the Syrian Prime Minister, has been seen leaving his home in Damascus under the escort of rebels prior to signing documentation officially relinquishing his power as Prime Minister.

Multiple videos earlier in the night showed Assad’s forces disrobing — literally taking off their uniforms in the streets.

The Syrian military forces could be seen all over Damascus changing into civilian clothing and abandoning their positions as the rebels moved into the city.

President Trump chimed in yesterday as the rebels closed in on the suburbs of Damascus.

The full text of his post is below for easier viewing.

Opposition fighters in Syria, in an unprecedented move, have totally taken over numerous cities, in a highly coordinated offensive, and are now on the outskirts of Damascus, obviously preparing to make a very big move toward taking out Assad. Russia, because they are so tied up in Ukraine, and with the loss there of over 600,000 soldiers, seems incapable of stopping this literal march through Syria, a country they have protected for years. This is where former President Obama refused to honor his commitment of protecting the RED LINE IN THE SAND, and all hell broke out, with Russia stepping in. But now they are, like possibly Assad himself, being forced out, and it may actually be the best thing that can happen to them. There was never much of a benefit in Syria for Russia, other than to make Obama look really stupid. In any event, Syria is a mess, but is not our friend, & THE UNITED STATES SHOULD HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. THIS IS NOT OUR FIGHT. LET IT PLAY OUT. DO NOT GET INVOLVED!

And then, with news breaking that Assad had fled the country, President Trump took to Truth Social according to Fox News.

President-elect Trump reacted Sunday morning to the news that Syrian dictator Bashar Assad had fled Syria after rebels stormed the capital city of Damascus.

“Assad is gone,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. “He has fled his country. His protector, Russia, Russia, Russia, led by Vladimir Putin, was not interested in protecting him any longer. There was no reason for Russia to be there in the first place. They lost all interest in Syria because of Ukraine, where close to 600,000 Russian soldiers lay wounded or dead, in a war that should never have started, and could go on forever.”

“Russia and Iran are in a weakened state right now, one because of Ukraine and a bad economy, the other because of Israel and its fighting success,” his post continued. “Likewise, Zelenskyy and Ukraine would like to make a deal and stop the madness. They have ridiculously lost 400,000 soldiers, and many more civilians. There should be an immediate ceasefire and negotiations should begin.”

Trump added: “Too many lives are being so needlessly wasted, too many families destroyed, and if it keeps going, it can turn into something much bigger, and far worse. I know Vladimir well. This is his time to act. China can help. The World is waiting!”

Assad, who used chemical weapons multiple times on his population, and his British-born wife, Asma al-Assad, fled with their three children, according to Syrian television reports, although it was not known where they were headed.

I’d like to remind you that President Trump has consistently warned about the dangers we face for further complicating the reality on the ground in Syria for the past decade.

Check out this throw back to August of 2013 when the future President dropped this wisdom — widely ignored by America’s leaders and intelligence community.

Bashar al-Assad has reportedly fled the country according to the Associated Press, though rumors are swirling about whether that is true, and where he went if indeed it is.

Syrian President Bashar Assad fled the country on Sunday, bringing to a dramatic close his nearly 14-year struggle to hold onto control as his country fragmented in a brutal civil war that became a proxy battlefield for regional and international powers.

Ironically, on Feb. 26, 2011, two days after the fall of Egypt’s Hosni Mubarak to protesters and just days before the wave of Arab Spring protests swept into his country, Assad e-mailed a joke he had run across mocking the Egyptian leader’s stubborn refusal to step down.

But as previously stated, rumors are swirling about Assad’s ultimate fate, including growing doubts that he made it out of the country alive.

According to flight radar, a plane presumed to be the one carrying Assad and his family took off from Damascus but seems to have either made an emergency landing or was taken down over rebel-controlled territory as it headed towards the coast.

As of the time of this writing, Assad’s whereabouts have not been confirmed, nor whether he was indeed on the plane in question.

It has also been reported in recent days that Israel would push into southern Syria if the rebels crossed certain red lines — which they have certainly done with the taking of Damascus and also the city of Homs in western Syria.

Reports are indicating that Israeli forces and tank units have already crossed into Syria.

The Israeli Air Force is also reportedly targeting a convoy of Hezbollah fighters trying to flee from Syria into Lebanon.

This is breaking news.  We will bring you more information as it becomes available.
