In Weston, someone’s attempt to fry a turkey turned into a great example on what not to do.
The results of not properly deep frying a turkey (ensuring it’s fully thawed first!) is a massive fire ball that is likely to catch the house on fire.
Such is the case for this $4 million mansion and the 20 people that were gathered for a Thanksgiving meal.
The fire was so massive it kept firefighters busy for 16 hours! Not to mention they lost out on a relaxing holiday themselves.
Thankfully, the family of 20 escaped unharmed.
The question I have is, how is it that with 20 members present, how many of them had “smart” phones on them?
And none of them thought to look up on YouTube ‘What’s the proper way to deep fry a turkey” ?

The Gateway Pundit reports:
A Connecticut mansion was destroyed on Thanksgiving after a turkey fryer fire erupted.
The fire in Weston erupted shortly before 4 p.m., according to the Daily Voice.
The fire exploded in an attached garage where a turkey fryer was used.
Firefighters battled the flames for 16 hours before bringing the blaze under control.
John Pokorny, Weston’s fire marshal and fire chief, said that the fire was so intense that it initially pushed back firefighters responding to the blaze, according to CT Insider.
About 20 members of a family group were in the mansion when the fire broke out. No injuries were reported.
However, the home assessed at $2.8 million was wrecked. The Daily Voice put the value of the mansion at $4 million.

To those that are new to this, I for one, never heard about deep frying turkeys until RFJ Jr posted a video about it.
Looking that up, I saw numerous videos showing the hazards of doing it wrong.
So even I know how not to set a house of fire using this method.
Here’s some clips of what NOT to do.
Apparently firefighters respond to around 1,000 fires caused by this every Thanksgiving:
