After Trump’s win, LA Times owner Pat Soon-Shiong wants to mix things up.
He’s thinking of adding CNN conservative Scott Jennings to the editorial board.
Not sure if CNN is the pond you want to fish in if looking for conservatives, but I suppose it’s a start.
Soon-Shiong is now wants “balanced views” and “critical thinkers” as he senses the change in the air.
No official word on Jennings joining yet, but the Times is clearly ready to shake things up.
Is this a true change or just an attempt to get win some customers back?
That’s why I want Scott on our new editorial board!!! Growing the board with experts who have thoughtful balanced views and new candidates are accepting the challenge to join us! Way to go Scott and thanks for accepting @latimes @ScottJenningsKY Stay tuned we are making this…

It’s about time we see this happen.
Let’s hope it spreads to other news companies.
The Post Millennial reports:
The Los Angeles Times owner is looking to put a conservative voice on the paper’s editorial board after President-elect Donald Trump’s win earlier this month. This comes after the normally left-leaning publication chose not to endorse Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election. One figure who may be joining the board is CNN’s conservative commentator, Scott Jennings.
LA Times owner Pat Soon-Shiong posted to X on Tuesday, “I want Scott on our new editorial board!!! Growing the board with experts who have thoughtful balanced views and new candidates are accepting the challenge to join us! Way to go Scott and thanks for accepting… Stay tuned we are making this happen.”
Although it is unclear if Jennings has joined the board yet, Soon-Shiong told reporters that he wanted the addition of Jennings, because the owner wants “some truly critical thinkers, thoughtful people, [on] the board” who are able to “voice opinion based on the facts,” per Mediaite. Soon-Shiong commented that he has liked Jennings in his approach to debate and thought that he puts into his answers and explanations.
Soon-Shiong told Fox News earlier this month with Trace Gallagher who asked him about the future of the paper after the 2024 election. The media landscape has been shifting since Trump’s win, with multiple outlets slashing costs and changing things up.
