‘We Got Real Mad’: Sen. Kennedy Goes Off On ‘Goofy’ Anti-American Hollywood Celebs

In the wake of President Donald Trump’s decisive victory, it became clear Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party weren’t the only big losers.

Despite a constant procession of Hollywood stars begging voters to vote for Harris, the American people were not swayed by celebrity endorsements. Now, U.S. Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) is among those who are urging those celebrities to re-evaluate their political positions.

According to The Hill:

“They hate George Washington and Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln and Dr. Seuss and Mr. Potato Head,” he continued. “They think our kids ought to be able to change genders at recess. They carry around Ziploc bags of kale to give themselves energy.”

“To me — to each his own — to me, kale tastes like I’d rather be fat,” Kennedy added.

Kennedy suggested celebrities making those comments are out of touch with reality.

“Now, these people are entitled to their opinion, but they have an unwarranted sense of moral and intellectual superiority,” Kennedy said. “They think they are smarter and more virtuous than the American people. And they think we’re not real people. But we were, and we are real people, and in this last election, we got real mad, and we sent a message clearly, unequivocally.”

Kennedy’s on-air exchange with Fox News Channel host Sean Hannity sparked some social media discussion this week:

Of course, he’s not the only one focusing on the entertainment industry in the aftermath of Election Day.

According to the Daily Mail:

Furious Americans have slammed Hollywood’s ‘out of touch and snobby’ liberal elite after Alec Baldwin and Sharon Stone branded millions ‘uneducated’ for voting in Donald Trump.

Baldwin and Stone’s remarks were met with furious backlash by their fellow Americans, who took to X to call the Hollywood stars ‘entitled, elitist snob losers’.

One user shared a poster he said applied to Stone which states: ‘Your only job is to entertain us. To take us away from reality. Your personal opinion means nothing to us. […] Sing. Act. Shut up.’

As we celebrate Thanksgiving, maybe it’s time for Hollywood to show some gratitude toward the people that have paid for the lifestyle they lead,’ another person wrote, with a third adding that the ‘uneducated’ comment was ‘arrogant’.

The criticism comes after Baldwin, 66, claimed that Americans were ‘uninformed’ while appearing at the 42nd Torino Film Festival in Turin, Italy on Monday, where he also stated that Americans ‘know little or nothing’ about world issues during a press conference.
