Bomb Threats Target Matt Gaetz and President Trump Appointees

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office suggests a bomb threat against Matt Gaetz is linked to other threats.

And they’re all against that President Donald Trump picked for his administration.

Nearly a dozen of Trump’s Cabinet appointees received violent threats, including bomb threats.

Some even had “swatting” incidents.

Swatting is a cyber harassment technique, where someone makes a hoax phone call to report serious crimes, this results in SWAT teams to a victim’s location.

Intent is clearly to intimidate and traumatize the victim.

While Gaetz was away, a family member was present as law enforcement and a bomb squad responded.

A sniffer dog examined his mailbox, but it’s unclear if the threat was genuine.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has indicated that a bomb threat targeting former Congressman Matt Gaetz could be linked to threats against people tapped for President-elect Donald Trump’s new administration.

An updated OCSO Facebook post about the Gaetz threat now includes paragraphs from a Fox News report about the other incidents.

“Nearly a dozen of President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees and other appointees tapped for the incoming administration were targeted Tuesday night with ‘violent, unAmerican threats to their lives and those who live with them,’ prompting a ‘swift’ law enforcement response,” Fox News Digital reported.

Trump nominated Gaetz, a Republican from Northwest Florida, as his new administration’s attorney general. However, the former congressman withdrew as a nominee last week.

Trump selected former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi to lead the Justice Department after Gaetz’s decision, according to the Associated Press.

Tuesday’s “attacks ranged from bomb threats to ‘swatting,’” Trump-Vance transition spokeswoman and incoming White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said, according to Fox News.
