President Donald Trump’s decision to nominate Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer as Secretary of Labor has conservatives raising eyebrows.
Known for her pro-union stance and support for immigrant amnesty, this has some Republicans upset.
Some are branding her as a “RINO.”
While we may not understand all of President Trump’s plans, we know he’s not dumb.
So it will interesting how this will play out.

But some people aren’t happy about this.

RTM reports:
President-elect Donald Trump has made the controversial decision to nominate Representative Lori Chavez-DeRemer (R-OR.) as the new Secretary of Labor. Her candidacy has sparked significant debate among conservative circles, where she is often labeled a “toxic” Republican in name only (RINO) due to her pro-union stance and alignment with more liberal policies during her congressional tenure.
Chavez-DeRemer’s record includes backing legislation that supports union organizing initiatives and advocating for amnesty for illegal immigrants. Critics within the Republican Party argue that her nomination undermines the administration’s commitment to deregulation and economic growth. They contend that appointing her to this key cabinet position could hinder the efforts to promote less government oversight and foster a more business-friendly environment.
One of the most contentious elements of her voting record is her co-sponsorship of the PRO Act, a bill designed to expand labor union power significantly. Supporters of the PRO Act view it as a necessary measure to empower workers; however, opponents warn that it threatens the gig economy and could dismantle right-to-work laws that many conservatives fiercely defend. The Chamber of Commerce and various business groups have already indicated they may oppose her nomination, pointing to her pro-union positions as incongruent with conservative economic principles.
I’m sure President Trump has done his homework on everyone he’s picked.
There’s a reason for everyone.
We’re not privy to what’s occurring behind closed doors, what deals are being made, what plans are in play.
