President Donald Trump announced yet another key personnel pick this week ahead of his second term in the White House.
The surgeon general, which is not a Cabinet position but does require a Senate confirmation, is tasked with overseeing the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. Trump released a statement on Friday confirming his nominee.
According to The Hill:
President-elect Trump named Janette Nesheiwat, a Fox News contributor and medical doctor in New York and New Jersey, as his nominee for surgeon general in his second administration.
“I am proud to announce that Dr. Janette Nesheiwat will be the Nation’s Doctor as the United States Surgeon General. Dr. Nesheiwat is a double board-certified Medical Doctor with an unwavering commitment to saving and treating thousands of American lives,” Trump said in a press release on Friday.
News of Nesheiwat’s nomination soon began to spread across social media. Some Trump supporters applauded his move while others expressed skepticism due to the nominee’s views during the COVID-19 era:

Nesheiwat isn’t the first face familiar to Fox News viewers who is on track to join the upcoming Trump administration.

As CBS News reported:
President-elect Donald Trump said Monday he is naming former Wisconsin Rep. Sean Duffy as his nominee for transportation secretary, as he continues to roll out picks for his Cabinet.
Duffy is a former reality TV star who was one of Trump’s most visible defenders on cable news — a prime concern for the media-focused president-elect. Duffy served in the House for nearly nine years, was a member of the Financial Services Committee and chairman of the subcommittee on insurance and housing. He left Congress in 2019, and is co-host of “The Bottom Line” on Fox Business.
In his announcement, Trump noted that Duffy is married to a Fox News host, calling him “the husband of a wonderful woman, Rachel Campos-Duffy, a STAR on Fox News.”
