Sen. John Fetterman says he may vote to confirm Dr. Mehmet Oz, whom President Trump chose to serve as Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Dr. Oz was Fetterman’s political opponent during Pennsylvania’s 2022 U.S. Senate race.
In a post on X, Fetterman said that as long as Dr. Oz will protect and preserve Medicare and Medicaid, he’s “voting for the dude.”

New York Post reported:
Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., said he would vote to confirm his former political opponent Dr. Mehmet Oz to serve as Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) administrator if Oz plans to protect the government programs.
“If Dr. Oz is about protecting and preserving Medicare and Medicaid, I’m voting for the dude,” Fetterman tweeted.
ADVERTISEMENTFetterman defeated Oz, a Republican, in Pennsylvania’s 2022 U.S. Senate race.
“Our politics are obviously different, and we do have a history, but I don’t have any bitterness. I don’t hold anything against him,” Fetterman said, according to CNN’s Manu Raju.
President-elect Donald Trump announced Oz as his pick to head the CMS, which falls under the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
Fetterman also told Independent:
But Fetterman told The Independent in an interview that he would be open to voting for Oz.
“Do you think he’s my first choice?” he said. “Do you think Trump is my first one? But it’s like yeah, here we are.”
As you probably guessed, liberals are ticked off.
Take a look at some of these salty responses:
John Fetterman has completely lost his mind. He doesn’t even remember the main issues he campaigned against Oz on two years ago. pic.twitter.com/xnE5N3Jdw3

Liberals gave Fetterman a zillion dollars of campaign cash to defeat Oz’s Senate campaign that touted Medicare privatization all so that Fetterman could win office and…

…vote to confirm Oz to run Medicare.

Let me get this straight. Your condition of voting in favor of his approval is he gives you his word? I'm laughing. You are aware this is Dr. Oz, right?

You do… remember this guy, right?

You literally ran on him being a threat to Medicare. Why on earth would you believe he's there to protect it???

It's scary but you, Senator Fetterman are consittantly in my top 5 (and some days top 3) of favorite Senators, and I'm MAGA.
You just want the division to end so that you can help America. And you're logical.
You're more MAGA than you know. 🇺🇸❤️
