Why do leftists hate small bakeries so much?
Whoopi Goldberg has just been caught lying about her experience at a popular, 145-year-old local New York bakery.
According to Goldberg, Holtermann’s Bakery refused to make her cupcakes because of her liberal political beliefs.
On Wednesday’s episode of The View, Goldberg and the other ladies chowed down on cupcakes to celebrate her 69th birthday.
Speaking about the cupcakes, she said, “The place that made these refused to make them for me. They said that their ovens had gone down, all kinds of stuff, but folks went and got them anyway, which is why I’m not telling you who made them.”
It makes a good story, doesn’t it? Leftists want you to believe that conservatives hate them so much, they refuse them service (because that’s just what they might do if you walked into one of their businesses wearing a MAGA hat.)
However, as it turns out, that’s all it is — a story.
The owner of the bakery has since come out to shut down Whoopi’s slander.
It turns out that yes, they refused to make her cupcakes, but it was because of a technical issue with their boiler.
It had nothing to do with her political beliefs!
Watch Whoopi’s tall tale here for yourself:
Whoopi said on The View that a bakery refused her cupcakes order due to her liberal stance. However, Jill Holtermann, who owns Holtermann's Bakery on Staten Island, said that they were unable to meet the order due to a boiler issue.

And, here’s the baker owner’s response:
Entertainment Weekly reported:
A 145-year-old New York bakery has denied Whoopi Goldberg‘s on-air speculation that the establishment refused to make special treats for her 69th birthday episode of The View over her political views.
Shortly after Goldberg closed Wednesday’s episode of the show by enjoying a round of Charlotte Russe desserts at the Hot Topics table, she declined to name the bakery that made the desserts because, as she speculated, they initially denied her order over her political beliefs.
When Entertainment Weekly tracked down and contacted the company, Holtermann’s Bakery on Staten Island, thanks to its distinct packaging for the Charlotte Russe treats, owner Jill Holtermann confirms that Goldberg initially requested the desserts two weeks ago, and denies the insinuation that she wasn’t able to complete the order as a comment on Goldberg’s left-leaning politics.
ADVERTISEMENT“They’d asked us and we were having trouble with our boilers,” Holtermann says, adding that Goldberg initially requested treats for a Nov. 6 appearance on a talk show, and for the Nov. 13 broadcast of The View — both of which she declined because she “didn’t want to make a commitment that I can’t carry through” over the uncertainty of her equipment. She also confirms that an unidentified woman picked up around 50 Charlotte Russe desserts from the bakery at 7:30 a.m. ET Wednesday morning, which she was able to make — but didn’t want to commit to ahead of time over ongoing boiler issues. She adds that she was not aware of any affiliations that the woman who picked up the desserts on Wednesday morning might have had, with regard to The View or otherwise.
Holtermann says that the building she operates in is nearly 100 years old, so equipment issues sometimes get in the way of fulfilling requests — as it did in the case of Goldberg’s long-range order.
“I said to Whoopi, ‘I can’t do it right now,” she adds. “We have so many things going on with my boiler,’ because the building is from 1930, so, when she called me, I had no idea [if we could] be baking everything.”
Holtermann maintains that “it was not because of political” affiliations.
Since this scandal broke, Holtermann’s bakery has never been busier, with folks in Staten Island lining up to show their support.

Former Republican candidate for city council Ying Tan posted this to encourage people to head to Holtermann’s:
I'm here to encourage all my friends to support Holtermann's Bakery in Staten Island. First of all, the staff are welcoming and warm, and I never feel any negativity or discrimination like Whoopi said. Second, the food tastes amazing! Looks like it all backfired for Whoopi!
Here’s Gutfeld’s hilarious take on the cupcake drama:
Greg Gutfeld couldn’t resist joking about Whoopi Goldberg’s recent cupcake controversy, where she accused a bakery of bias for initially declining her order.
Gutfeld quipped, "The owner denies it had anything to do with politics. She just wasn't sure she could fulfill an order… pic.twitter.com/uEAf8xYrb3
