FULL TRANSCRIPT:
Hi everyone, happy Sunday morning to everyone! I am Pastor Rob Goodman, and I am the senior pastor here at Zion Freedom Fellowship in Westminster, Maryland. I’ve got a powerful message for you today, and the Lord is good! I can’t believe that we are coming up in two weeks—it’ll be Thanksgiving. Can you believe it? I am still just overwhelmed and overjoyed with the fact that President Trump had miraculously, historically won this election. Man, our country really needed this right now.
We are of the Kingdom of God, and the Lord is not done with this nation yet. He is not finished with it. Many people have prophesied doom and gloom over this nation, but you know what? God’s not done with this nation yet. He is not finished. So, praise be to God! I’m glad that you’re here with me today on this beautiful Sunday morning. I pray that God would anoint you, open up your spiritual ears, your spiritual eyes, so that you can receive this message.
We’re going to talk about the Tabernacle of Moses. This is actually Part Two. Let’s look at some notes real quick, and then we will pray. Amen? Thank you. Thank you, Lord. In fact, let’s pray now.
[Prayer]
Heavenly Father, we praise You, and we thank You for this message of the Tabernacle of Moses. Lord, as we enter in today to this teaching, and we talk about the Brazen Altar, Lord, there are so many things that this piece of furniture points to: the death and burial of the Lord Jesus Christ, the fact that He went into hell and paid the price for our sins, the fact that He was raised up to life. It also points to baptism, that we are baptized with Christ into His death and into His likeness of His resurrection.
Oh, I’m telling you, brothers and sisters, this is one exciting message. But let’s just pray:
Father, we thank You, and we praise You, Lord. Father, I ask You to minister to the hearts of the people. Lord, open up their spiritual ears and eyes so that they can understand and that they can enter in, Lord, and be filled with renewal, strength, power, and authority through the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Lord, let Your Word go forth in power and in authority. Lord, let Your name be glorified and lifted up high. Lord, have Your way with Your body, with Your Church, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen and amen.
Well again, I’m grateful that you’re here with us today. I am actually recording this on Saturday afternoon so that you’re able to watch it on Sunday morning. So again, in this series, we will start at the beginning of the Tabernacle. When Yahweh showed the Tabernacle to Moses, He started at the Holy of Holies, as I explained in Part One. But I will start at the very beginning and explain each part in great detail. I will mainly pay specific attention to each article of furniture and how it points to Christ and to His finished work. That’s what we need to see in this.
Not only does it point to Christ, but it points to where we are in our walk of faith with the Lord. Our goal is not just to stay in the Outer Court all of our life, but it is to move from one part of the Tabernacle into the fullness of the glory of God, the manifested sons and daughters of the Most High God. Praise be to Jesus! Praise be to Jesus!
It also points to His finished work as the Cross. As you all know, we are seated there with Him at the right hand of the glory of God. Glory to His name! Let’s go to Ephesians Chapter 1. We’re going to look at verses 15 to 23. Ephesians Chapter 1, verses 15 to 23. And I’m going to get a sip of my coffee. Okay, you all with me?
Ephesians Chapter 1, we’re going to start at verse 15. This is the Apostle Paul speaking to the church at Ephesus:
“Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all of the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him…”
“…that the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, and what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power, which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.”

Woo! Hallelujah! I don’t know about you, but that gets me excited. And He put all things—everything—under the feet of Jesus. God put all things under the feet of Jesus and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church. I mean, this is amazing what God did.
Okay, first of all, He made Jesus ruler over everything. He came as a sinless offering and gave Himself for the sins of the people. When He went to the Cross, He had never once sinned—not in thought, not in deed. He was righteous before God. Man, that’s powerful!
So He gave Him to be head over all things to the church. So, everything that Christ did, He turned around and gave it to you and me. That blows my mind, and it gets me excited because, you know what? We’re not to walk around like this all the time: “Oh, you know, I’m just a poor Christian. I can’t overcome anything. I’m just a poor, needy thing, and I’ll never get any better.”
No! That is a bunch of malarkey being fed to you from the devil. You rise up, take hold of the Word of God, and put it in your mouth. Put on the breastplate of righteousness, the armor of God. Put it on and begin to exercise who you are in Christ Jesus, and let Him show Himself to you. Let Him reveal Himself to you. That is going to change you forever, brothers and sisters. It is going to change you forever.
“…which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.”
So when we go into the Tabernacle and we discuss every piece of furniture, it’s going to point to Christ and what He did. It’s also going to point to where you are presently in your walk of faith through the Tabernacle. It’s going to tell you where you are located. Thank you, Lord! That is just amazing. That is absolutely amazing.
We need to know our rightful place and where we are today in the Kingdom of God. We must understand the authority that He has given to us as sons and daughters of the Most High God. Now, we’re going to talk about the Outer Court.
Now, you must remember that this symbolizes the 30-, 60-, and 100-fold seed process that Jesus talked about in Mark Chapter 4, I believe, verse 8. Anyway, you guys can find that very easily. Jesus talked about some bringing forth 30, some bringing forth 60, and some bringing forth 100-fold. Wow! What it is to have a 100-fold return is truly amazing. But the Lord wants to use you. He wants to use you in the Kingdom of God. He wants every member of the body to be productive.
We are the body of Him, the fullness of Him that fills all in all. Let Him fill you to the full with His glory. Let Him renew your mind. Let Him captivate every thought and bring it into the obedience of Christ. Let Him captivate every part of your thinking, every part of your emotions, everything in your life that isn’t in line with the Word of God. Let Him have His way. Blessed be the name of Jesus.
Well, all right. The Tabernacle was a mobile dwelling place where Yahweh would travel with His people everywhere they went. Let’s go to 1 Corinthians Chapter 6, starting at verse 9. 1 Corinthians Chapter 6, and we’re going to start at verse 9.
This is really interesting—what the Apostle Paul has to say:
“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the Kingdom of God.”

And such were some of you. But you were washed. You were sanctified. You were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. Oh, praise be to God!
This is what the Apostle Paul said: You were once worldly, you were once unsaved, you were once not a member of the body of Christ. But because you believed on Jesus, who was raised from the dead, you heard a message that drew your heart and convicted you of sin and unrighteousness. You repented of your sin, and you asked Jesus into your life. You were born again. You were changed. You were made brand new.
That is the Gospel message of the Lord Jesus Christ. You cannot make yourself holy before Him. No, you can’t do it. But the Lord will change you. He will make you righteous in and of Himself. Amen.
Our bodies become mobile temples because the Lord is with us wherever we go. Now let’s talk specifically about the Brazen Altar. The altar pointed to the ultimate suffering of Jesus. The Apostle Paul called Jesus our Passover Lamb. This Brazen Altar also points to being baptized into Jesus’ death, like in water baptism.
Let’s go to Ezra Chapter 6 in the Old Covenant. Ezra Chapter 6. Thank you, Lord. Back into the Old Testament. Okay, Ezra is right after 1 Chronicles and 2 Chronicles, then Ezra, then Nehemiah. So we’re going to Ezra Chapter 6, and we’re going to start reading at verse 8. I love this verse of scripture here.
“Moreover I issue a decree as to what you shall do for the elders of these Jews, for the building of this house of God: Let the cost be paid at the king’s expense from taxes on the region beyond the river. This is to be given immediately to these men so that they are not hindered.”
You know, Satan wants to hinder your work. He has a goal in mind. He’ll try to hinder you any way that he can. He distracts us. Sometimes he tries to make us sick. Sometimes he puts thoughts of confusion in our minds. Sometimes he berates us, making us feel we’re not even worthy to serve the Lord. But we must rise up and take the Word of God, the sword of the Spirit, and use it against the enemy. Amen?
Hallelujah! God is so good. He is so, so good.
“And whatever they need—young bulls, rams, and lambs for the burnt offerings of the God of heaven; wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the request of the priests who are in Jerusalem—let it be given to them day by day without fail.”
Now, this is amazing to me. Darius, who was the king, gave these commands. It was to be paid out of the king’s taxes that he collected. I mean, this is just amazing how God will make a way for you. Satan wants to distract you, he wants to bring you down, he wants to attack you any way he can. But don’t give up. Don’t give up!
You know, the church prevailed in prayer through this whole election cycle. We heard the lies on the mainstream media. We heard the lies that Kamala Harris and Joe Biden spoke, and all they were trying to do to President Trump. But because he was faithful to God, the Lord brought him out in great and total victory. I mean, it’s just absolutely amazing. I’m still overwhelmed and mind-boggled by how this has come to pass. Our nation is going to be a different place. Praise be to God!
“That they may offer sacrifices of sweet aroma to the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king and his sons.”
That’s all King Darius wanted in return. He just wanted prayer for him and his sons. Amazing!
“I also decree that whoever alters this edict, let a timber be pulled from his house and erected, and let him be hanged on it; and let his house be made a refuse heap because of this.”
That’s amazing! Look what happened to Haman in the story of Esther. He was found out. And I’m telling you right now, the enemies of God will be found out. Judgment will come to the enemies of God—no doubt about it. Look at all the things the psalmist says about the enemies of God and how God will deal with them.
“And may the God who causes His name to dwell there destroy any king or people who put their hand to alter it or to destroy this house of God which is in Jerusalem. I, Darius, issue a decree; let it be done diligently.”
Now, when you’ve got the king’s favor, man, you’ve got something going for you. Now, we’ve got the favor of God. No man shall be able to stand before the Lord—not one enemy, not one crooked person, not one thief, not one government on this earth will ever be able to stand against the God of heaven and earth. It can’t be done. God never loses. Do you believe that? Praise be to God! What an amazing, amazing, amazing testimony.
Let’s go to Romans Chapter 6. Back to the New Covenant again. Romans Chapter 6, and we’re going to start with verse 1. Thank you, Lord. Thanks for being patient with me while I wet my whistle. Amen? Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. Thank you. Thank you, Lord.
Romans Chapter 6, starting at verse 1:
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?”
You must have that revelation. It’s very important to be baptized, but you must have the revelation that when you are baptized, you are showing the world that you’re dead to it. You are dead to the things of the world. You’re dead to your old vices. You’re dead to your old sins and temptations.
We know that 1 Corinthians 10:13 says:
“There has no temptation taken you but that which is common to all mankind. But God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above that which you are able to bear, but will with that temptation also make a way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”
What a promise! Look for that escape route. Look for it when you feel like everything in you is going to give in to temptation. Resist it. Call out to God. Speak the Word of God. I’m telling you, temptation will leave you if you speak the Word of God and the promises of God. It will leave you.
“Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?”
Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death. Just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection.
“Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin.”
Man, this is awesome! So baptism is very important. We baptized folks out in the backyard a couple of summers ago in a little kiddie pool. It was a little bit tough, but we got it done. Amen? And hopefully, the Lord will give us the way to baptize people in the future. He’ll give us a way to do it. Amen? Thank you, Lord. God is so good. He is just ultimate and wonderful.
Now, let’s specifically talk about the Brazen Altar. The Brazen Altar was a square, hollow box made of acacia wood. It was also called shittim wood (probably pronounced differently in Hebrew) and covered in bronze. This altar was located in the Tabernacle. So, this acacia wood was covered with bronze, making it strong enough to withstand fire and to burn the animal sacrifices placed upon it.
The altar was used for burning animal sacrifices as a way for the Israelites to atone for their sins. Now, what’s interesting about an atonement is that it does not purge sin. Under the Old Covenant, the blood covered sin, but it never purged it from our nature. The blood of Jesus will purge you completely clean. It will wipe sin out of your system once and for all. Amen!
The altar was 7 ½ feet by 7 ½ feet by 4 ½ feet in depth. The altar had four horns on the corners, a bronze grate inside, and accessories such as pans, shovels, and flesh hooks. You ever feel like a flesh hook is being put into your flesh sometimes? Yikes! Think about it: the Word of God is like a flesh hook. It’ll grab you and convict you—that’s what a flesh hook is, the conviction of sin by the Holy Spirit. Total conviction. Amen!
The Brazen Altar was the most familiar vessel to the Israelites and was likely the busiest area in the Tabernacle. It was also the only vessel in the Tabernacle to be called “Most Holy” by God Himself. The altar’s dimensions of five cubits by five cubits and three cubits symbolize divine grace and point to Jesus. Amen! The Law did not bring grace, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ, according to John Chapter 1.
With five representing grace and three representing deity (the triune nature of God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), the altar’s wood represents humanity, while the bronze represents judgment. Wow, that’s pretty amazing. Sin is judged. Our God is a consuming fire. He is a consuming fire. Do you believe that?
The four horns represent power and symbolize that the Gospel is for everyone. It represents the four corners of the world—north, south, east, and west. That is just amazing to me.
The Outer Court represents the beginning of salvation. We, as believers, can’t stay here our entire life. We must progress onto the Most Holy Place and then into the fullness of the glory of God. We talked about that in Ephesians Chapter 1:15-23. We must continue to move forward. May God show you where you’re at right now in your walk of faith. Don’t be condemned by that. Hey, if you’re at the very beginning, well, praise be to God! At least you’re there. At least you’re not lost outside the camp of God. No, you’re there in the camp, and you’re being changed. You’re going to go through the full process.
That’s why teaching the Word of God is absolutely necessary for you to be victorious in your walk with Jesus. You know, we have many people in our church that can attest to that—their lives have been changed completely and totally. Glory be to God! That is amazing. It’s just absolutely amazing.
All right, let’s continue to move on. Let’s begin to go forward. Where are you with the Lord today? Have you been baptized? Have you been baptized in the Holy Spirit? You know, the Word of God says that the Word of God is like a fire shut up in my bones. The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord. This is where your spirit is—right here. Your spirit is not just your physical heart. Although that word “heart” in Greek means “pneuma,” which means “spirit.”
The Spirit of God dwells within your human spirit. That’s when you get born again. When you truly believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and invite Him into your heart, you are changed forever. You are renewed by the power and the authority of Almighty God. Blessed be the name of Jesus. Blessed be the name of Jesus! Blessed be the name of Jesus!
Let’s look at Exodus 33:11, and then we’re going to pray. Exodus 33:11. Now, this is when God speaks to Moses. I love this. I love this. Actually, I’m going to go back a little bit with these scriptures. Let’s go back. All right, we’re going to go to verse 1.
“Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Depart and go up from here, you and the people whom you have brought out of the land of Egypt, to the land which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, “To your descendants, I will give it.” And I will send My Angel before you, and I will drive out the Canaanite and the Amorite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite. Go up to a land flowing with milk and honey; for I will not go up in your midst, lest I consume you on the way, for you are a stiff-necked people.'”
Woo! Oh, my. Has God ever said that to you before? Has the Lord ever told you that you’ve got pride? How did that make you feel? Yikes!
“And when the people heard this bad news, they mourned, and no one put on his ornaments. For the Lord had said to Moses, ‘Say to the children of Israel, “You are a stiff-necked people. I could come up into your midst in one moment and consume you. Now, therefore, take off your ornaments, that I may know what to do to you.”‘”
So, the children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments by Mount Horeb. Moses took his tent and pitched it outside the camp, far from the camp, and called it the Tabernacle of Meeting. And it came to pass that everyone who sought the Lord went out to the Tabernacle of Meeting, which was outside the camp.
So it was, whenever Moses went out to the Tabernacle, that all the people rose, and each man stood at his tent door and watched Moses until he had gone into the Tabernacle.
“And it came to pass, when Moses entered the Tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the Tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses.”
Isn’t that interesting? You know, Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice, and the voice of a stranger they will not follow.” Why should I not expect the Lord to speak to me? I’m one of His chosen sheep. I’m born again. I have the Spirit of God living inside of me. I’m baptized in the Holy Spirit. Why should I not expect the Lord to speak to me when I ask Him a question? Right?
Do you ever ask the Lord a question, and He gives you a response? Yeah? Amen to that, because you’re one of His children. You have boldness to enter into the holiest of all by the blood of Jesus. Things are different. We’re not under the Old Covenant. The Old Covenant pointed to sin, judgment, and death. But in the New Covenant, we are appointed unto life. We are kings and priests unto our God, serving in righteousness and true holiness. Wow, praise be to God!
“All the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the Tabernacle door, and all the people rose and worshiped, each man in his tent door. So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.”
Wow! Isn’t that amazing how the Lord speaks to us? He wants to speak to you. You’re His child. What parent doesn’t talk to their kids? I talk to my kids all the time. I did when they were little, and I do now. I long to talk with them. I love to talk to my oldest son, my grandkids, my daughter-in-law, and my son Ryan in Florida. When Nate comes home from work, I look forward to talking with him and seeing how his day went. That is not a strange thing—a father wants to fellowship with his kids.
“So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the Tabernacle. Then Moses said to the Lord, ‘See, You say to me, “Bring up this people.” But You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, “I know you by name, and you have also found grace in My sight.” Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people.'”
Man, you know what, folks? You are the children of God. You belong to the Lord. It’s not an odd thing that God would speak to you.
Now, have you learned anything from the Brazen Altar today? If you are in the Outer Court, God doesn’t want you to stay there forever. He wants you to move into the next place, the Inner Court, where there’s the altar of incense, right before the curtain that goes into the Holy of Holies. There’s also the table of showbread, which symbolizes the Word of God, and the candlesticks, which bring light into a dark area. These also represent our soulish nature.
The Most Holy Place represents our soulish nature that needs to be transformed. Thank God! Man, I’m telling you, thank God! I pray that your life is changed today.
Let’s pray this prayer of dedication. Pray this with me:
“Father, I yield my life to You. I give You my heart. Jesus, take Your place as Lord in my life. I submit the entirety of my being to You. Come, Jesus. Come into my heart right now. Cleanse me from all sin. You know the areas in my life that are not yet right with You, but You love me, Lord. You love me so much. You want me to walk with You and be a blessing. Jesus, come into my heart.”
Those of you that don’t know Jesus, I want you to pray this prayer with me:
“Jesus, come into my heart. I am a sinner. I’m lost. I’m going to die one day, and if I don’t know You, I’m going to go to hell. Jesus, come into my heart and save me. I believe that You are the Son of God. You came to this earth to live and die for me. I receive You, Jesus. I receive You right now. In the mighty name of Jesus, amen and amen.”
Praise God! Thank you, Jesus. You are a blessing. God wants to use you, brothers and sisters. If you live in a foreign nation somewhere and don’t know Jesus, invite Him into your heart and then find yourself a good church that teaches you how to walk with the Lord. There are churches in every nation, even in nations where Christianity is outlawed. Let the Lord have His way with you.
I praise God for you. If you prayed that prayer and you need prayer, please email me at Zion Freedom Fellowship—again, that’s all one word: [email protected]. Once I receive your message, I will answer you as quickly as I possibly can. If you need prayer, please email me, and I will be glad to pray for you.
May God bless you. May God have His way with you. To those of you that are believers and walking with the Lord, continue to cry out to God. Continue to cry out for your soulish nature to be transformed and renewed by the living Word of God. He is your God. Let Him have His way with you.
[Closing Blessing]
“May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord cause His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you His great peace—His great shalom, shalom, shalom. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
God bless you all. I love you all very, very much. Until next Sunday, I’ll be back then. In Jesus’ name, amen. God bless you guys. I love you so much. Bye for now!
