Ahead of President Donald Trump’s historic win on Election Day, a number of leftist celebrities insisted that they’d pack their bags and leave the country if he received another term in the White House.
While many Trump supporters might gladly be rid of them, few of these anti-Trump stars likely had any real intention of moving to another nation. But Eva Longoria might be the exception to the rule.
As The Hill reported:
Before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Longoria said, the U.S. “was changing” and the “vibe was different.”
“And then COVID happened, and it pushed it over the edge. Whether it’s the homelessness or the taxes, not that I want to s‑‑‑ on California — it just feels like this chapter in my life is done now,” she said.
“I’m privileged,” Longoria, 49, said.
“I get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans aren’t so lucky. They’re going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them.”
Her announcement attracted some attention on social media:

Hey Eva Longoria, why are you really fleeing the United States? pic.twitter.com/QlYZv2hQtu

So @EvaLongoria moved her family to Mexico and Spain because of high taxes and homelessness caused by Democrat policies in California yet she spent the past few months trying to get Kamala Harris elected to nationalize these same policies.

Oh no. Oh God. I never would have supported Trump if I knew it would lead to this. How can we go on without Eva Longoria? What is the point anymore? Don’t leave us, Eva! Nooooo! https://t.co/cKfBmShv9a

.@LisaMarieBoothe brought the receipts in the wake of woke actress Eva Longoria moving out of what she calls the "dystopian" US:
"Eva Longoria is a complete fraud. … She's been gone. She's been living outside of the United States for years…She's been splitting time between… pic.twitter.com/mArEwyMrzq

Longoria offered additional explanation for her decision, as Fox News reported:
Shortly after the presidency was called for Trump, a bruised Longoria tried to remain optimistic. “I would like to think our fight continues,” she told Marie Claire in a new interview. She noted that she thinks the country is “a scary place,” adding, “If he keeps his promises, it’s going to be a scary place.”
While Trump heads back to the Oval Office, Longoria will flock back to one of her two homes outside the U.S. For several years, the “Desperate Housewives” star has been splitting her time between Spain and Mexico with her husband, José Bastón, and their 6-year-old son, Santiago.
