SHOCKING: Liberal Movie Star Admits Dems are “Elitists”, Trump’s Republicans “Party of the People”

It is often the case that I regret hearing musicians and actors talk about their political stance.  I generally just want to enjoy their craft.  Even when the person happens to share my views — that’s not why I like to watch their movies or hear their music — it’s because they make good movies, or good music!

But I couldn’t pass up the chance to share this gem with you about Michael Douglas.  The man has acting in his blood.  If I’m choosing a movie for my wife and I to watch in the evening once (if…) we can get the kids to stay in bed, and a Michael Douglas’ movie pops up — I know it’s a winner.

But Michael Douglas is a lifelong democrat.  I’m talking fundraising, hard-left, PROGRESSIVE-SUPPORTING democrat.  And though he hasn’t changed that stance that I can tell, he certainly just said something that sounds a lot more like REALITY than most of the left-leaning political views, in my opinion.

Hollywood star Michael Douglas has admitted albeit grudgingly that Republicans under President-elect Donald Trump are now the “party of the people” while Democrats are now seen as “elitist.”

The Wall Street actor appeared Friday on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, where the episode revolved almost entirely on Trump’s stunning victory over Kamala Harris.

Michael Douglas, who is a longtime supporter of Democrat candidates, was clearly upset over Trump’s win.

“Wednesday morning, I was just so pissed at this razor thin race, right? It was going to be so close, you know, with all these polls — and it’s a wipeout,” Douglas said, adding that he later spent the day playing golf.

He said Democrats lost the election over the economy.

“In 40 years, the stock market has increased 5,000 percent and real earning wages have increased 14 percent,” Douglas said, later adding that ordinary Americans “are going week to week with the inflation, it is killing them.”

“And I think we really underestimated it, and the very fact now that we could talk about Republicans as being the people, the party for the people, and that we have this elitist party on the left, Democrats, is wild.”  (emphasis added.)

Don’t get me wrong — it doesn’t sound like he’s changing his party affiliation, nor does it sound like he’s had a sudden “come to Jesus moment” where he realizes the democratic policies are basically garbage through and through.  But it does sound like he’s at least coming to terms with the fact that the Republican party under President Trump’s leadership is truly “the party of the people” versus the current democratic party which is “elitists”.

Those were his words.  And frankly, I’m astounded!  Honestly I’m astounded in more ways than one; not just that someone that far left-leaning actually admitted that reality, but I’m just as astounded how someone can admit that and not turn against the democratic party full tilt!?

But lest we forget, watch this video!  Michael Douglas was indeed one of those Biden “elites” who swore up and down that Biden was “as sharp as a tack” — literally covering up the fact that the United States did not have (and still does not have!) a cognizant mind running the Oval Office!

According to a story on Deadline.com, Douglas was recently asked how he thought Ben Franklin would react to the current state of affairs in America, and he — I suspect accurately — stated that he thought Ben would have reached for “another drink”.

Douglas previously produced and appeared in this summer’s documentary America’s Burning, which unpacks the country’s economic divide.

After portraying Benjamin Franklin in this year’s Apple TV+ miniseries Franklin, Douglas also guessed how the Founding Father would have reacted to the latest election. “Oh, I think he’d have another drink,” he said.

While I’m not holding my breath waiting on Michael Douglas to have a full conversion to MAGA mentality, or to suddenly drop his progressive ideologies, or to even slow down his funding of the democratic party — I can’t help but enjoy it when big celebs come right out and state the obvious…

Trump’s Republicans are “the party of the people”, and democrats are “elitists”.

Because… like it or not… that’s the truth.  And the people just chose to put those “elitists” in their place; that is, they chose to REPLACE most of them with leadership that actually represents common sense policy and puts America first!  The fact that even Hollywood leftists — ELITES! — are waking up to the reality that THEY DON’T COMMAND THE PEOPLE’S RESPECT ON POLITICAL ISSUES LIKE THEY THOUGHT THEY DID… you know things are really starting to change.
