Rep. Byron Donalds Responds To Media’s Narrative About President Trump’s Supposed ‘Enemies List’

With President Donald Trump returning to the White House, his critics in politics and media have revived their efforts to sully his reputation.

By either taking Trump’s words out of context or inventing them entirely, some prominent anti-Trump pundits have claimed that his second term will be defined by an effort to attack those on his supposed “enemies list.”

Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), however, had a clear message for anyone who might believe such a narrative, as The Hill reported:

“For the American people who have been listening to these lies from the Democratic left, I will tell you, this is not something that Donald Trump has ever spoken to, or he’s committed to, whatsoever. There’s no enemies list,” Donalds said on “Fox News Sunday.”

The Florida Republican admitted that there are people who are opposed to Trump and that he dislikes, but argued Trump is “focused on the American people.”

Kamala Harris even used the “enemies list” line as a last-minute ploy to prop up her failing campaign just days before her historic loss to Trump:

But Trump and his allies have made it clear what they have planned for the next four years, and it’s not revenge:

Even the most recent episode of “Saturday Night Live” included a reference in the Weekend Update segment to an enemies list, as NPR reported:

Colin Jost, co-anchor of SNL’s “Weekend Update,” teased his co-anchor, Michael Che, saying Che was from the “lamestream media”, and joking he had tried to spin their news updates to make Trump look “foolish.”

“So, if you’re keeping some sort of list of your enemies, then we should not be on that list,” the cast joked, before Jost added: “And it’s c-h-e. Che”.

The comedy show’s joking attempt to get on Trump’s good side comes as the president-elect prepares to return to the White House and has vowed to punish his perceived enemies.

Last week, Vice President Kamala Harris made a surprise trip to New York City to appear on Saturday Night Live, in the hope of boosting her chances in this week’s election. But Harris resoundingly lost, winning 226 electoral college votes to Trump’s 312.
