One of President Donald Trump’s bitterest 2024 primary rivals recently learned that she will not be receiving an invitation to serve in his second administration.
Nikki Haley, who served as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations during Trump’s first term, reacted to Trump’s decision not to offer her a position.
According to Fox News:
Nikki Haley, a Republican who ran against President-elect Trump months ago, responded after he publicly announced that she would not be joining his administration.
Responding in an equally public format, Haley wrote that she wishes him “great success.”
“I was proud to work with President Trump defending America at the United Nations,” she wrote in a X post Saturday.
“I wish him, and all who serve, great success in moving us forward to a stronger, safer America over the next four years,” she said.
Mike Pompeo, who served as CIA director and Secretary of State under Trump, was also singled out in Trump’s statement. Many Trump supporters felt it was appropriate to exclude both individuals from his second term.

Trump announced Nikki Haley will not be stepping a foot in the White House.
I’m glad she finally endorsed Trump but she was snake and turned on Trump too many times!
She doesn’t deserve to even look at the White House. pic.twitter.com/Uk31tdR1Oi

It’s amazing that Trump announced Haley and Pompeo are out! It’s a fantastic signal!
But here’s the thing: not good enough. We don’t just not want Haley or Pompeo, we don’t want them for reasons. Because they are insane war hawks. So, no insane war hawks That should be the bar.

Although Haley fought Trump tooth and nail during the primary campaign, she subsequently endorsed him in the general election.
As The Hill reported:
In her Wall Street Journal op-ed, Haley described the election as a choice between two candidates and argued it’s an “easy call” to back Trump over Vice President Harris.
“I don’t agree with Mr. Trump 100% of the time. But I do agree with him most of the time, and I disagree with Ms. Harris nearly all the time,” Haley wrote in the op-ed. “That makes this an easy call.”
Haley began the op-ed acknowledging that millions of people love Trump and millions hate Trump. She noted, however, that there are still millions who have “mixed” feelings about him.
“They like much of what he did as president and agree with most of his policies. But they dislike his tone and can’t condone his excesses, such as his conduct on Jan. 6, 2021. This third group of Americans will determine whether the former president returns to the White House,” Haley wrote in her piece.
ADVERTISEMENT“To that group, I’ll point out that Mr. Trump isn’t the only one on the ballot. This election isn’t a referendum on him. It’s a choice between him and Kamala Harris,” she continued.
His latest remarks on the matter signaled a change of heart since his clinched the GOP nomination earlier this year:
