Vice President Kamala Harris, who called and congratulated President-elect Donald Trump on his victory in the 2024 presidential election, is expected to make a speech Wednesday afternoon from Howard University in Washington, D.C.
The Democratic presidential nominee will deliver the speech at 4 p.m. ET, the White House confirmed.
Harris had been expected to address her election night party Tuesday night at the historically Black college where she was an undergraduate. However, as voting results came in, it became clear early Wednesday morning Trump would ultimately win a second term in the White House.
As the WLT Report covered earlier, Kamala Harris called President Trump on Wednesday afternoon to congratulate him on winning the election.
A senior Harris aide revealed Harris talked to Trump about the importance of a peaceful transfer of power.

Kamala Harris called President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday to concede the election and congratulate him on his victory, according to a senior adviser to the vice president.
The aide, who declined to be identified discussing a private conversation, said Harris talked about the need for a peaceful transfer of power.
Harris, once viewed as a potential savior for the Democratic Party after Joe Biden ‘s reelection campaign stalled, is reckoning with a profound rejection by American voters in this year’s presidential election.
