Vice President Harris is expected to call President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday to concede the 2024 presidential race and is also expected to speak publicly, according to two Harris aides.

Harris is expected to address the nation at 4 p.m. ET at Howard University, her alma mater. In the meantime, she is working on her speech, one of the aides said.

President Joe Biden also plans to call Trump on Wednesday and also plans to speak publicly about the election results, according to a White House official.

Biden’s reaction to Trump’s victory overall is set to include all of the things Trump never did when Biden won in 2020 — a call to congratulate him, an invitation to the White House and an offer to attend his inauguration, the White House official said.

NBC News called the presidential race Wednesday morning, projecting that Trump won just after 5:30 a.m. ET, capturing 276 electoral votes to Harris’ 223.
