CNN’s first exit poll numbers started coming in to the news desk just a short time ago, and the reaction to what we all suspected is just as shocking as you might have imagined. Chris Wallace, Dana Bash, Jake Tapper — all of them are visibly stunned, and immediately tried to twist the plain truth into some silver-lining of “hope”.
Sorry, CNN — the “joy” left Kamala’s campaign weeks ago, if it was ever there to begin with; and it took all “hope” of a Democratic win with it, if these numbers are to be believed. Check out the answers to just the SATISFIED vs DISATISFIED exit poll question:
Just brutal numbers for Kamala Harris in the CNN Exit Poll
72% of voters are “angry” or “dissatisfied” with the state of the country.

Keep in mind — Kamala Harris was in charge the last few years to a degree that far exceeds the normal role of a Vice President. In some of these clips, you can hear the CNN hosts try to hang on to hope; clinging to some notion that Americans aren’t going to blame Kamala for what she was directly responsible for doing to this nation. Watch as the reality manifests on Jake Tappers face as he hears the numbers coming out of Georgia.
BREAKING: CNN’s Georgia Exit Poll reveals that Trump is winning the independent vote by 11 points. In 2020, Joe Biden “won” independents by 9 points
Independents make up 31% of voters, so this is game over for Kamala in Georgia.

According to the official 2020 numbers, Joe Biden “won” the independent vote by 9 points in 2020. Right now, the CNN exit polls in Georgia are showing that President Trump is WINNING the independent vote by 11 points. That is a 20 point swing in Georgia, and it’s showing up plain as day in CNN’s own exit polls.
Watch this clip shared by Collin Rugg, which overlaps from part of the last video clip. Watch the stunned interaction between the hosts towards the end of the clip. (Sometimes it hurts when reality sets in.)
JUST IN: Jake Tapper visibly stunned after seeing a massive swing of 20 points with independents from Biden in 2020 to Trump in 2024 in Georgia.

Chris Wallace literally had to admit that it would be a “miracle” if Kamala Harris won, according to a story in The Daily Beast, once he saw the CNN data start to come in. Considering the crazy level of voter dissatisfaction and the swing of independent voters towards Trump, the CNN crowd didn’t have enough rose-colored glasses on hand to cover their reactions.
CNN anchor Chris Wallace said it would be a “miracle” if Kamala Harris won given the results of the network’s first exit polls, which revealed high levels of voter dissatisfaction with the country’s trajectory under the Biden Administration.
In the lead-in to a discussion of the exit polls, CNN Political Director David Chalian revealed that only 7 percent of voters were enthusiastic about how things are going in the U.S., while 43 percent said they were dissatisfied and 29 percent expressed anger. Fifty-eight percent of those polled disapproved of Biden’s performance as president.
CNN anchor Dana Bash suggested that it wasn’t clear which candidate, Donald Trump or the vice president, would bear the brunt of the blame in the eyes of dissatisfied voters.
“Harris is part of the current administration,” she said, “but Donald Trump and the Trump era is very much upon us.”
Wallace interjected and said that he thought that take was “putting the best spin on it” for Harris.
JUST IN: CNN’s Dana Bash says she is concerned that Kamala Harris may not have had enough time to “introduce herself” to the American people.
Not sounding confident on CNN. Vote!

And there is Dana Bash, already trying to hand out excuses for why Kamala didn’t have enough time to make herself known to the American voters. Wow. The softballs never stop coming from CNN for Kamala Harris, at least in terms of Dana Bash.
In their coverage of the CNN exit polls, Newsweek highlighted Chris Wallace’s reaction, and for good reason — it is probably the closest any of the CNN hosts came to simply accepting that the narrative they’ve been helping to prop up on behalf of the democratic party has been largely ignored and seen for what it is by voters — empty lies.
“In conventional terms, it would be a miracle that Kamala Harris could win with that kind of headwind,” Wallace said during a panel on CNN Tuesday evening.
CNN’s poll also found that the majority of voters are dissatisfied with President Joe Biden, whose approval rating is 41 percent, based on the responses collected so far.
“If she overcomes those numbers and still wins this election, then she [would have] done a remarkable job of somehow separating herself,” Wallace added, “that she’s part of the solution and not part of the problem.”
