JD Vance Says Trump Is Fired Up Over The Death Of P’Nut The Squirrel

JD Vance and Donald Trump Jr. have weighed in on  New York authorities executing a search warrant to seize a squirrel and raccoon from a New Yorker’s home and only later to euthanize them.

During JD Vance’s latest rally, the Vice Presidential candidate shared, “I know Don’s fired up about P’nut the squirrel.”

He added, “He was like, ‘You know, is it really the case that the Democrats murdered the Elon Musk of squirrels?”

Even former President Donald Trump is going nuts over the senseless killing of P’nut.

“I know Don’s fired up about P’nut the squirrel,” Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, told supporters Sunday about the furry Internet sensation euthanized last week by New York state officials.

“He was like, ‘You know, is it really the case that the Democrats murdered the Elon Musk of squirrels?’

“Have you seen the videos of this squirrel? He’s, like, a genius. Or he was,” the Ohio senator continued at a campaign rally in Sanford, North Carolina.

“The same government that doesn’t care about hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrant criminals coming into our country, doesn’t want us to have pets. It’s the craziest thing.”

News of P’nut’s death has been making headlines ever since the tiny creature and his pal, a raccoon named Fred, were seized by state Department of Environmental Conservation officials last Wednesday following anonymous complaints over rabies fears.

Per BBC:

The plight of an Instagram-famous pet squirrel that was euthanised by New York wildlife officials has become a campaign talking point two days before the US presidential election.

Donald Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, told a rally that the death of Peanut the squirrel raised questions about government priorities.

The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) said it had seized the animal because officials were notified of potentially unsafe house housing for the pet.

The agency said it put Peanut down after he bit an official involved in the seizure. The DEC also euthanised a raccoon named Fred that they took from the same property.
