Kamala Harris Walks Into a Semiconductor Factory (A Comedy of Errors) “Don’t Touch That!”

A Republican, a Democrat, and a Priest walk into a bar… just kidding, it wasn’t a bar.  I’m not sure if there were any Republicans present, and if a Priest was actually there he was probably praying for everyone’s safetyBut there was a Democrat, and her name was Kamala Harris.

But like I said, it wasn’t a bar; it was the Hemlock Semiconductor plant in Saginaw, Georgia, which Kamala Harris visited during a campaign stop in Georgia yesterday.  And that is the most boring part of this entire story.  Because everything that happened after that… well, Kamala Harris was involved.  And it was a Semiconductor factory.  So I wouldn’t say it went “well“.

The employee giving Kamala the tour approached the tables laden with different materials produced at the facility, including some that were “shiny”.  Kamala apparently likes shiny objects, and if it hadn’t been for the quick thinking and foresight of her tour guide… that might have been the end of that tour.

You can actually see the moment that the employee guiding her through the facility realized what was about to happen, and almost before Kamala could ask, he said “Do not touch it”, according to a New York Post article that covered the event.

Vice President Kamala Harris was told to keep her hands to herself Monday during a tour of a semiconductor manufacturing facility in Michigan, where the allure of touching “shiny” silicon almost caused a serious injury.

“Here is, actually, a harvested U-rod,” an employee at Hemlock Semiconductors in Saginaw informed Harris, 60, as she approached a large piece of silicon covered in what appeared to be plastic wrap.

“Can I touch it?” the Democratic nominee asked as her right hand hovered over the metalloid rod.

“Do not touch it,” the factory worker immediately responded.

“Do not,” the vice president noted. “I’m glad I asked.”

“Please do not touch any of the poly,” the hard-hat-wearing employee added as Harris approached an enticing plate of silicon crystal chunks, just beyond the U-rod display.

“Those are very sharp,” another man on the tour informed Harris.

“OK … and shiny,” she observed, this time keeping her distance from the display.

I take my kids grocery shopping with me on occasion.  Generally, my wife and I go together; one of us will take the kids… and the other will shop.  Why?  Because they can’t help but touch everything in sight, and it is nearly impossible to shop with 4 sets of hands grabbing at everything.  I tell you this so that you might have some reference point by which to understand how Kamala’s tour guide felt.  (Tough gig!)

And then, as she arrives at the next table, I believe the democratic candidate for President may have attempted to divulge state secrets by openly confirming the speed and volume at which U.S. semiconductor manufacturing is possible.

And if you think that was the end of the comedy, or the errors, you would be mistaken.  Because at the end of the tour, they stood Kamala in front of microphones and allowed her to speak.  And that doesn’t tend to be a good idea.

If you didn’t catch it, that was Kamala having absolutely no clue what she had just seen after an extensive tour of the plant.  She literally didn’t know what they were making, even after a personal tour of the facility, with her own personal tour guide.

This is why the polls are crushing them.  This is why democrats are racing to jump ship, and support President Trump.  This is why Trump was able to unify such a super-star ensemble of leaders and power players into his campaign; because they all realize what would happen if the person in these videos was ever handed the full reins of the United States Presidency.

But where this might be subtitled “A Comedy of Errors”, that ensuring situation would likely require renaming; something more like “A Tragedy of Missteps”.

This is a resilient nation.  We have endured a lot over our history.  But I honestly don’t know if we can endure 4 years of Kamala Harris, unmitigated, inside the Oval Office.  And hopefully, in about a week… that worry will evaporate; like my brain cells as I watched these clips.
