Trouble In Paradise: Charlamagne and Anderson Cooper Spar On CNN

Democrats are not as unified as they want you to believe.

In a recent airing on CNN, host Anderson Cooper and radio host Charlemagne tha god sparred over CNN’s coverage of President Trump.

The awkward exchange began when Charlamagne told Cooper, “You spend more time on if Kamala is black than fascist Trump.”

Cooper quickly responded, “That’s bullsh*t.”

Charlamagne shot back, “That’s bullsh*t, Anderson.”

Per The Hollywood Reporter:

Charlamagne tha God took no prisoners during an appearance on CNN‘s AC360 on Thursday night, damning the network’s coverage of Donald Trump and overtly fascist statements and tendencies, and the double standards it applies to Kamala Harris in an impassioned bout of truth-telling that left host Anderson Cooper reeling.

In a clip that has gone viral on social media, Charlamagne, a popular podcaster and co-host of the nationally syndicated radio show The Breakfast Club, is asked by Cooper about Trump’s plan to appear on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast and whether Harris planned to do the same.

“I think that she should keep calling Donald Trump a fascist,” Charlamagne replied tersely to the rather inane question.

He continued, “And I think that Americans need to keep looking at the rhetoric of Donald Trump because I don’t know why we’re even thinking about electing somebody who’s talking about putting people in camps. I don’t know why we’re talking, why we want to elect somebody who’s talking about mass deportation. I don’t know why we’re having this conversation about somebody who wants to terminate the constitution to overthrow the results of an election. Aren’t we supposed to be a patriotic country? Whenever somebody like Colin Kaepernick takes a knee in this country, everybody talks about, ‘Oh, that’s so unpatriotic.’ But a guy can say he wants to terminate the constitution to overthrow the results of an election and nobody cares?”

Anderson Cooper and Charlamagne Tha God got into a tussle on the former’s CNN show when Charlamagne called out news networks like CNN for focusing less on Donald Trump being a fascist and more on topics related to Kamala Harris such as whether or not she’s Black, a false claim Trump has touted at several points. Cooper called “bullshit” on Charlamagne’s observation, leading to a back-and-forth between the host and his interview subject.

“It’s crazy because you still don’t have news networks having that conversation, like when somebody says, when somebody questions Kamala Harris’s Blackness or is she a DEI hire, you all will have roundtable discussions about that, asking that question. How come we’re not having a roundtable discussion asking is Donald Trump a fascist? Actually not even asking, he’s stating it,” Charlamagne asked the CNN host. “How come that is not the topic of discussion on networks like CNN every day?”

Cooper answered by saying “I talk about this every night,” but Charlamagne wasn’t buying it and told the host: “I don’t think y’all have enough conversations about it. I feel like I heard more on this network about is Kamala Harris Black than I do about Donald Trump being a fascist.”
