ABC News reports:
An improvised aluminum pipe to ingest drugs was also found in his hotel room, according to the sources.
Payne’s body will remain in Argentina until the autopsy is complete, the sources also told ABC News.
ADVERTISEMENTPrior to Payne’s death, hotel officials called authorities and asked them to “send someone with urgency” due to a guest they said was “drunk with drugs and alcohol.”
“We need to send someone with urgency because I don’t know if the guest’s life is in danger because he is in a room with balcony, and we are afraid he could do something that threatens life,” the worker told emergency services.
When authorities arrived approximately seven minutes later, Payne’s body was found in the inner courtyard of the hotel, where he was pronounced dead at the scene, Alberto Crescenti, the director of SAME, Buenos Aires Emergency Medical Services, told ABC News.

Per TMZ:
Forensic examiners, we’re told, also found “Cristal” in his blood, which is the Argentinian version of methamphetamine. ABC News first reported the news, adding that ketamine, ecstasy and “pink cocaine” were also part of the drug cocktail in his system.
Our sources also say police found a bottle of alcohol in Liam’s hotel room … as well as prescription medications … namely, anti-anxiety meds.
The test results appear to back up what cops have already said … that drugs may have been a factor in Liam’s possible suicide.
Photos from inside Liam’s hotel room show the place was a pig stye … his TV was smashed and there was a white powdery substance and drug paraphernalia in the room, which was littered with broken objects.
Last week, feds issued a warning about pink cocaine.
“The feds say it’s a popular party drug they’re finding on New York City streets,” CBS News wrote.
“It’s being sold mostly online and through social media apps but being abused in the clubs in New York City,” Drug Enforcement Agency New York Special Agent in Charge Frank Tarentino said.
It’s also known as “Tusi” or “Tuci.”

From CBS News:
The expensive club drug, also known as “Tusi” or “Tuci,” often contains no cocaine at all. DEA agents say it’s a synthetic drug mixed with white powder and pink food coloring that’s marketed as a fun, party cocktail.
Bridget Brennan, New York City’s special narcotics prosecutor, says the drug is dangerous, causes amnesia and has been seen in date rape cases.
ADVERTISEMENT“It’s ketamine mixed with methamphetamine, ecstasy. It could be mixed with anything,” Brennan said. “It can put people into a ‘k-hole’ where they feel like they’re in a blank space, like they are disassociated from their body, they’re disassociated from their brain, they don’t know what’s going on.”
CBS News New York has learned the drug has been linked to a Sean “Diddy” Combs sex assault and trafficking case filed by music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones earlier this year. The 79-page lawsuit alleges “It was required all employees from the butler, the chef to the housekeepers, walk around with a pouch or fanny pack filled with cocaine, GHB, ecstasy, marijuana gummies and Tuci (a pink drug that is a combination of ecstasy and cocaine).”
