Trump Delivers Harsh Critique to Bloomberg Journalist—Here’s What He Said

President Donald Trump didn’t hold back in his latest exchange with a journalist, delivering a sharp critique during an interview.

Today he took on Bloomberg journalist John Micklethwait. President Trump was in rare form, making for a memorable interview.

Micklethwait chatted with Trump about  tariffs, inflation, trade deals, Federal Reserve, and more at the Economic Club of Chicago event. At one point he shared the concern that Trump policies would drive up inflation.

“You are running up enormous debt,” said Micklethwait, pointing to claims made by the Wall Street Journal.

“What does the Wall Street Journal know? They’ve been wrong about everything,” Trump responded. “So have, you by the way. … You’ve been wrong all your life on this stuff.”

During the interview, Trump reminded his audience that the United States had four years with no inflation under his watch. He contrasted this with Biden “who has no idea where the hell he is. Biden went two years with no inflation because he inherited from me. And then they started spending money like drunken sailors …”

The Hill shares:

Former President Trump clashed with the editor-in-chief of Bloomberg News during an economic forum in Chicago on Tuesday over the GOP nominee’s insistence that tariffs would not have negative consequences in a possible second term.

Bloomberg’s top editor, John Micklethwait, repeatedly pressed Trump at the Economic Club of Chicago over his plans to impose a universal tariff on imports and his threats to use tariffs on American companies that outsource their manufacturing.

Micklethwait noted Trump’s plans would essentially halt trade with China, place at least a 10 percent tariff on European nations and have a drastic effect on the U.S. economy, where 40 million jobs rely on trade.

“That is going to have a serious effect on the overall economy,” Micklethwait said.

“It’s going to have a massive effect — positive effect. It’s going to be a positive effect,” Trump responded. “It must be hard for you to spend 25 years talking about tariffs as being negative and then have somebody explain to you that you’re totally wrong.”

As I watched this interview, it was good to be reminded of Trump’s fearlessness in calling out the mainstream media to their faces.
