As WLT Report reported earlier on Sunday, Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco reported that a man driving a black SUV attempted to present a fake VIP pass at a checkpoint at Trump’s rally in Coachella, California.
Deputies soon after searched the vehicle and discovered the man was in illegal possession of a shotgun, a loaded handgun, and a high-capacity magazine.
Sheriff Bianco, in a statement to the press, shared, “We probably stopped another assassination attempt.”
The suspect has been identified as Vem Miller and has been taken into custody “on suspicion of possession of a loaded firearm and possession of a high-capacity magazine.”
Miller has since posted a $5,000 bail bond and is no longer in custody.
In Sheriff Bianco’s latest press conference, he gave more details.
In Bianco’s press conference, he revealed that Miller had a fake license plate and possessed several passports and IDs with different names.

Sheriff Bianco further shared, “Thank God, and by an act of what we did to keeping [Trump’s rally] secure – I certainly wouldn’t want to be saying after the fact, ‘I wish we would have done something better to prevent that shooting.'”
“None of the other, probably 50,000 people, that showed up for that event brought multiple passports, with different names, and guns,” added Bianco.
