President Trump To Hold Rally In Democrat Stronghold

President Trump will hold a rally in deep-blue California on Saturday.

“President Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America, will deliver remarks at a rally in Coachella, California on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 5:00PM PDT,” a press release on the Trump campaign website read.

The rally will be at the Calhoun Ranch.

“Under Kamala Harris and her dangerous Democrat allies like Tim Walz, the notorious ‘California Dream’ has turned into a nightmare for everyday Americans. Since Harris and Biden took office, prices have skyrocketed by nearly 20 percent, leaving Californians grappling with crushing costs. Families are struggling to stay afloat, with the average California household losing more than $33,232 since January 2021. Californians are suffocating under rising prices for everything from groceries to housing, thanks to Kamalanomics,” the press release read.

“And let’s not forget the surging gas prices squeezing Californians at the pump. Residents are paying $4.66 per gallon on average, with 2022 gas prices setting new record highs thanks to the Green New Scam policies of Harris, Biden, and Newsom. California also boasts the second-highest unemployment rate in the nation, further proof that Democrats like Harris are driving the state into the ground,” it added.

The Desert Sun reports:

Trump is no stranger to the valley. While still in office in early 2020, Trump held a fundraiser at the Rancho Mirage estate of Oracle Chairman Larry Ellison. Trump’s visit brought dozens of supporters to greet him at Palm Springs International Airport, cheering him on with chants of “Four more years!”

Meanwhile, hundreds of Trump’s opponents rallied near Ellison’s estate in Rancho Mirage with signs and a large balloon mocking the president. The counter-protest was organized by Courageous Resistance, a progressive local political group.

Unlike the upcoming event, which has registration open for the public to get tickets, the 2020 event was private and cost a minimum of $100,000 per couple to attend, with a higher ticket price of $250,000 for those who wanted to participate in a policy roundtable with the president.

The full guest list for the Rancho Mirage fundraiser was not made public, but local gas station mogul Nachhattar Chandi was among those who said he was attending. The president’s arrival at the airport also drew some local political figures, such as Jeff Gonzalez, a Marine veteran and pastor who’s running as a Republican for a state Assembly seat this year; conservative radio talk show host Rich Gilgallon; and Joy Miedecke, president of the East Valley Republican Women Patriots club.

“This is the future Harris and Walz want for the rest of America—crippling inflation, unaffordable housing, and sky-high gas prices. If this is the California Dream, it’s every American’s worst nightmare. President Trump is the only candidate who can reverse the damage done by Comrade Kamala, and it’s why Americans will elect him the 47th President of the United States this November,” the press release read.

From the Los Angeles Times:

“Undoubtedly he’s going to do something in the desert. There’s so much money out there,” said a California Republican strategist with close ties to the Trump campaign.

He added that the former president has been trying to set up such an event in California for at least a year but it took work to find a setting that could accommodate tens of thousands of people that wasn’t in a city or county run by Democrats who could stymie his plans. The Coachella Valley offers the perfect location for Trump to speak about the border and water issues as well as Harris’ record.

“This is a point of pride for President Trump,” said this strategist, who was granted anonymity to speak candidly about interactions with the campaign. “He fought in New York. He’s going to fight in California. He’s not leaving anything on the table.”

Trump’s campaign said the former president is appearing in the state to shine a spotlight on Harris’ record here.
