Wow! Talk about a scary landing! For the passengers on Frontier flight 1326 between San Diego and Las Vegas on Saturday, there was apparently very little warning until they saw the flames shooting out beneath them!

According to an ABC Good Morning America story, things happened fast. There was no communication with the pilot, and the right engine was on fire by the time they were on the ground!

According to a Fox Business story, the pilots detected smoke during the landing and declared an emergency. Thankfully, there were no injuries!
A Frontier Airlines plane that flew from San Diego to Las Vegas was caught on camera with flames and smoke shooting out of its undercarriage during landing.

ADVERTISEMENT“The aircraft landed safely and all passengers and crew were evacuated via airstairs,” Frontier said in a statement. “No injuries were reported, and passengers have been bussed to the terminal. There were a total of 190 passengers and 7 crew members on board.”
The airline added that the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Simply Flying, an online magazine, reported that the flight took off more than 20 minutes after it’s scheduled departure time from San Diego. Frontier confirmed the incident in a statement to Simply Flying:
“As Flight 1326 from San Diego to Las Vegas was in the process of landing at LAS this afternoon at approximately 3.15p PT, the pilots detected smoke and declared an emergency. The aircraft landed safely and all passengers and crew were evacuated via airstairs. No injuries were reported, and passengers have been bussed to the terminal. There were a total of 190 passengers and 7 crew members on board. The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.”
This is a developing story. The FAA is currently investigating the cause, which is unknown at this time.
