‘F You CBS’: Debate Moderators Slammed For Cutting Vance’s Mic During Pivotal Moment

Although the moderators for Tuesday’s vice presidential debate indicated that they wouldn’t engage in real-time fact-checking, they apparently could not resist interrupting President Donald Trump’s running mate JD Vance.

During a discussion of the ongoing border crisis, Vance attempted to clarify his remarks about Haitian migrants in Springfield, Ohio.

According to the New York Post:

Sen. JD Vance was accurately describing the migrant crisis fueled by Kamala Harris and Joe Biden when CBS moderator Margaret Brennan decided to insert herself with a “fact check.”

“Just to clarify for our viewers, Springfield, Ohio does have a large number of Haitian migrants who have legal status,” she said smugly.

Vance was rightly annoyed by the interruption and said, “The rules were that you guys weren’t going to fact-check, and since you’re fact-checking me, I think it’s important to say what’s actually going on.”

He then proceeded to truthfully, forcefully explain what “legal status” means:

“So there’s an application called the CBP One app, where you can go on as an illegal migrant, apply for asylum or apply for parole, and be granted legal status at the wave of a Kamala Harris open border wand.”

At which point CBS decided to CUT OFF HIS MIC.

The effort to silence Vance’s rebuttal drew harsh social media rebukes:

Former Fox News Channel host Megyn Kelly also chimed in, as Deadline reported:

Megyn Kelly was live posting on X during the debate and had an instant reaction when the moment happened.

“F you CBS — how DARE YOU,” the fired Today show host shared.

In a second post, she added, “Tried to face check. JD put you in your place. You WONT HIM FIGHT YOU AND YOU WONT LET THEM DEBATE.”

Here’s a clip of the exchange between Vance and the moderators:
