CRAZY VIDEO: Bodycam & Traffic Cam Shows Moment Deputy Climbs Between Moving Vehicles To Save Distressed Driver!

Some things only happen in the movies.  But for Deputy Sheriff Nicole Miron, that’s not really true.  Check out this crazy footage of the moment her partner maneuvered their squad car into position alongside another driver in distress — so that Deputy Miron could JUMP INTO THE OTHER VEHICLE and save the other driver!

Just check out this screen shot I pulled from some of the footage!  I played around with the contrast so you can clearly see the Deputy start to move towards the other vehicle!

That’s Deputy Nicole Miron, and her partner Deputy Anthony Gross, going far above the call of duty to rescue someone in desperate need of help!  Okay – here’s the footage via ABC 7 out of Chicago!

According to ABC 7 Chicago, here’s how it went down!

Traffic cameras caught the moment Macomb County Sheriff’s Deputy Miron climb from her own vehicle into a moving car.

The sheriff’s office said deputies saw a 63-year-old man driving erratically on southbound Gratiot Avenue in Mount Clemens in a silver GMC Sierra.

Deputies pulled up next to the driver and noticed he “appeared to be in a daze, unable to comprehend the requests.”

That’s when Deputy Miron, who was in the passenger side of the patrol vehicle, climbed out of the window into the moving truck.

I was able to track down this interview with the two deputies a little after the incident.  Check out this “after action” report from WXYZ 7 News out of Detroit!

According to WXYZ, the driver did manage to hit his brakes just before Deputy Miron made that wild scramble from their patrol cruiser, through the window of the other vehicle:

A life-saving scene played out on a busy stretch of Gratiot Avenue last week with a heroic act by a Macomb County sheriff’s deputy.

Deputies Nicole Miron and Anthony Gross were notified on Sept. 12 around 2:15 p.m. that a silver GMC Sierra pickup truck was driving erratically in Mount Clemens on southbound Gratiot Avenue near Church Street.

They found the driver on Gratiot Avenue near Remick Drive and turned on their lights and siren, but the 63-year-old driver failed to stop and continued on at about 5 mph.

“So once I get in, I realized the park’s right at the steering wheel. I put it into park immediately… checked on him, he was in a daze, he wasn’t sure what was going on,” Miron added.

Gross was driving and Miron rolled down her window and tried to get the driver to stop, but he appeared to be in a daze. The driver managed to briefly hit his brakes and that’s when Miron climbed from her passenger seat into the moving truck. The deputy was able to stop the truck.

According to a BBC report, the driver was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The driver was experiencing a medical emergency when deputies were dispatched, according to the Sheriff’s Department. Once Deputy Nicole Miron got inside the vehicle, she was able to stop it.

Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham commended the officer for her response. “Due to her quick thinking and selfless actions, she safely ended what could have been a tragic situation,” Wickersham said.

The driver was transported to an area hospital for further medical care.

At a time when law enforcement from local levels on up have faced increased scrutiny, not to mention the completely illogical push to “defund the police”, I love it when these stories come across the radar.  I know things like this happen every day without making the news or going viral — but I love it when they do!

Congratulations on a job well done to Deputies Nicole Miron and Anthony Gross!  And to Sheriff Wickersham of the Macomb County Sheriff Department… don’t “defund” these two!  If anything, give them a raise!
