Although President Donald Trump remains busy outlining his platform for a second term in the White House, he is scheduled to take a detour from strictly campaign-related speeches with an address on Monday evening.
Speaking from his Mar-A-Lago resort in Florida, Newsmax reported that Trump will officially launch a new cryptocurrency company headed up by his two eldest sons:
Former President Donald Trump plans to deliver remarks next Monday about cryptocurrency and the launch of the company World Liberty Financial, a crypto platform controlled by the Republican nominee’s sons Donald Jr. and Eric.
His speech will come 49 days before Election Day, an extraordinary use of dwindling campaign time to promote a personal business. The Republican former president has long mixed his political and business interests and marketed sneakers, photo books, and Trump-branded Bibles during his 2024 campaign.
“We’re embracing the future with crypto and leaving the slow and outdated big banks behind,” Trump said in a video posted Thursday to X, the social media site that will also host his address on the subject at 8 p.m. EDT on Monday from his Mar-a-Lago home.
Trump has made digital currencies a recurring topic of discussion thus far in the campaign season.

Trump’s opinion on cryptocurrency has shifted from skepticism to optimism since his first term. Earlier this year, he outlined a plan to prioritize how the U.S. government handles such digital currencies.
According to NBC News:
Former President Donald Trump stopped short of promising to establish an official U.S. bitcoin strategic reserve currency during his Saturday keynote speech at the biggest bitcoin conference of the year.
Instead, the Republican presidential nominee pledged simply to maintain the current level of bitcoin holdings that the U.S. has amassed from seizing assets from financial criminals.
“For too long our government has violated the cardinal rule that every bitcoiner knows by heart: Never sell your bitcoin,” Trump said at this year’s Bitcoin Conference in Nashville.
“If I am elected, it will be the policy of my administration, United States of America, to keep 100% of all the bitcoin the U.S. government currently holds or acquires into the future,” he said.
Here’s a clip of his latest remarks, as shared on X by his son, Eric:
