During Tuesday night’s presidential debate, Kamala Harris surprised viewers by saying she’s a gun owner.
“Harris said her administration would not take anyone’s guns because her and Tim Walz are both gun owners,” 100 Percent Fed Up noted.
“This business about taking everyone’s guns away; Tim Walz and I are both gun owners. We’re not taking anybody’s guns away so stop with the continuous lying about this stuff,” Harris said.

Per CBS News:
Walz has spoken publicly about being an avid hunter and gun owner. He even earned “A” ratings from the National Rifle Association from 2010 to 2016, though his grade fell to an “F” in 2018 after the Minnesota governor backed stricter gun laws after the shooting at a high school in Parkland, Florida.
But Harris’ quip about having a gun raised eyebrows, even though it’s not the first time the vice president has spoken about it publicly.
ADVERTISEMENTIn 2019, while running in the Democratic presidential primary, Harris told reporters that she is a gun owner, according to a CNN report at the time.
However, Harris advocated for gun control measures days later.
“Congress must renew the assault weapons ban,” Harris said Saturday.

Harris went from “we’re not taking anybody’s guns away” to “Congress must renew the assault weapons ban” in under a week.
The Guardian reports:
Harris also reiterated that she and Walz are gun owners and believe that they can respect the second amendment while pushing for and implementing long-asked-for policies like a ban on so-called assault weapons and universal background checks on gun purchases. “We are not taking anybody’s guns away,” she said.
“I feel very strongly that it’s consistent with the second amendment to say we need an assault weapons ban. They’re literally tools of war they were literally designed to kill a lot of people quickly.”
Harris’ comments shouldn’t surprise voters.
“Kamala Harris just said Trump is lying about her support of a mandatory gun buyback because she ‘is a gun owner.’ The reality is, Kamala will get to keep the guns protecting her while she forces you to turn yours in. But don’t listen to me, listen to Kamala herself,” Ashley St. Clair wrote.

“FACT-CHECK: Here’s gun owner (supposedly) Kamala Harris, in 2019 promising mandatory gun confiscation, which libs love to call a ‘buy back.’ But when it’s mandatory, they don’t exactly give you a choice,” Charlie Kirk commented.

In old footage, Harris said on the campaign trail that she would take executive action if Congress failed to implement gun control measures within her first 100 days.
